Review: Standard Food, Below-Average Service at 16th and Broadway

I generally have realistic expectations when pulling into a McDonald’s, but my recent experience at the 16th and Broadway location fell squarely into the “mediocre” category. While the food itself was exactly what you’d expect—hot, salted, and consistent—the service side of the operation was significantly lacking, making the overall visit more frustrating than it needed to be.
The first major issue was the efficiency. Even for a city location, the wait times were much longer than normal. I watched the drive-thru line crawl forward at a snail’s pace, and it wasn’t even during the peak lunch or dinner rush. It felt as though the internal workflow was either understaffed or simply disorganized, which is disappointing when you’re specifically choosing “fast food” for the sake of convenience.
The most off-putting part of the visit, however, was the attitude of the drive-thru staff. When I finally reached the window, I wasn’t greeted with even a basic “hello” or “that’ll be $10.00.” Instead, the interaction felt incredibly dismissive. When I tried to double-check that I had a specific sauce in the bag, the employee gave a heavy sigh and a dismissive wave of the hand, barely making eye contact before sliding the window shut.
It’s a shame because the location is convenient, but the lack of basic professionalism and the sluggish pace make it hard to recommend over other nearby options. If you’re in a massive hurry or hoping for a friendly interaction to start your day, you might want to keep driving.

3 times over the past 3 months, I’ve gone to this location for breakfast. 3 times they’ve messed my order up. I order the same thing every time from whichever location, and they never mess up. I get the steak, egg and cheese bagel, and they always give me a sausage, egg and cheese bagel, OR they don’t even give me a patty, and I get egg and cheese. I know the difference between sausage and the steak patties. They look and taste different. That’s just for breakfast. Then if you call and talk to a worker/manager they take your info including your address and number, then never make it right. When you’re spending over $10 on a meal it shouldn’t be hard to do it the right way or make it right. I wouldn’t go to this location, try the other location in CB or just go to Omaha.

I quit coming here for the longest time because they kept messing up our order. My daughter had surgery and said that she wanted McDonald’s and me and my wife agreed that I would run on my lunch break and pick it up. I asked for a handful of ranch and a handful of sweet and sour to go with the chicken nugget orders. When I get home it turns out I got the wrong sauce and apparently a handful is two..
So I ran back to McDonald’s got the right sauce but now they’re going to be eating cold food and I’m not going to be able to eat because I will be late from my lunch break.

I door dash 30+ hours a week so I’m very familiar with every McDonald’s in the metro. This one is definitely top tier in how well it’s managed. Every shift is well staffed and trained. The orders always come out fast, correct, complete, and with great customer service.

I had ordered food this morning from the store and well I mean just look at the photo the bond was legitly soggy as hell to where I can barely push up on it and it was literally pulling the soggy part up there was so much grease on this that it made it to the box was pretty much no longer a box

put in a mobile order today for 3 drinks and a frie, when we received the drinks the shake had a hole in the bottom of the cup and we didn’t know until we got half way home and it was leaking all over my lap and car. we throw it out and come home to change since i’m now all sticky. We call mcdonald’s for a refund and the store manager asks for us to bring the whole order in for a refund or to bring them the cup for a refund. they want a cracked cup that had shake spill ALL OVER my car for a refund!!! thanks mcdonalds

Food order was accurate and didn’t take too long even during the lunch rush. Restaurant was clean and the atmosphere was enjoyable except for customers watching videos on their phones with the sound way up and the the homeless people who just camp out in booths.

Your manager Lisa the older lady is great! They were super busy and hardly had any crew. She was trying to help other customers with mistakes and to be called a retard and inappropriate names is not ok. Why would companies with ok with this? Thank you manager Lisa for doing a great job. Sorry you had to be talked too like that. Keep up the good work. Unfortunately companies only focus on the negatives

If you’re looking for fast, fresh, and accurate food, this is not the place. Their speed, attention to detail, and customer service are consistently terrible. We have been to this location twice in the past two months, and both visits left us frustrated and annoyed. If you don’t want to pull away from the drive-thru only to be disappointed, skip this McDonald’s because they clearly do not know how to serve customers correctly…

They do not care about their customers, or good quality customer service anymore. They won’t ring you up at the register. They tell you to use the kiosk instead. This is very lousy customer service in my opinion. I would give Zero Stars but to give a review it requires you to give at least 1 very undeserved star. Also your crew needs to learn to not put so much sauce on the sandwiches that if the customer is not super careful they will end up wearing about half of their sandwich. Also too much sauce ruins the sandwich. Frappé’s are not supposed to come out to the customer half frozen either to the point the customer cannot drink it through the straw. Also you need to give an option to order light sauce on the sandwiches on the McDonald’s app.
