pretentious. We were seated immediately and greeted by our server Chris who took very good care of us. The Prime Rib was exquisite and the sides of sautéed green beans and mashed potatoes were perfect with it. A glass of house Cabernet tied it all together perfectly.
My wife had a Nuts for Berries salad with fried shrimp on the side. She was extremely impressed and thoroughly enjoyed it.
C Level offers fine dining in a great atmosphere at a fair price.
Steaming HOT rolls and whipped butter came out quickly when they served as they served us our drinks. Hit the spot as we waited for our meals. Which was a bit slower than I expected, though our server kept us in water and bread. The kitchen was backed up from our understanding. It wasn’t a bad thing since we wanted to talk and we did have the rolls.
We weren’t particularly hungry so we skipped the entry and ordered dinners.
The crab cake dinner comes with 3 cakes and two sides. We opted for the Truffle new potatoes and small side salad with blue cheese dressing. The salad came first, as expected. For a small side salad this was fairly large portion. The blue cheese dressing had large pieces of blue cheese and a thick dressing which was absolutely delicious, served on the side. The lettuce and vegetables were crisp and fresh but often don’t get in restaurants. The crab cakes for fried to a crispy perfection the crab what is generous and in chunks with very little filler to distract you from the crab. Delicious. Will you find several other local restaurants in PCB looking for a good crab cake, so far this was the best.
We also had the classic burger and added blue cheese to accompany the Truffle fries that it came with. Adding blue cheese to this burger was the right choice. It increase the flavor profile, again generous portion of blue cheese came out piled on top of the burger served open face. It also comes with a fresh crisp lettuce leaf, pickles tomato and onion on a freshly grilled 1/2 lb patty. The Truffle fries word piping hot and serve to us still steaming so watch your tongue when you take that first fry to taste since it may burn your mouth they are so hot. As a side note, ask for whatever condiments such as ketchup and mustard or mayo to address your sandwich.
C Level has instantly become one of our favorites in PCB. Definitely worth a try if you haven’t been here before. The added bonus that this is a local owned business that has really hit the mark with quality food and cheerful service.
The fried cauliflower appetizer was a surprise standout. Served with Buffalo sauce and paired with ranch dressing, the combination of heat and cool creaminess really set it apart. My wife ordered the crab cakes and said they were the best she’s ever had. Her truffle new potatoes were also a highlight, rich and perfectly prepared. The grilled pineapple added another level of flavor to the meal, and even the bread with creamy butter was so good I couldn’t stop eating it.
Overall: Every detail at C Level impressed us. From the appetizers to the sauces to the main dishes, this was easily the best dining experience of our trip. We had excellent servers on both visits, and I’d highly recommend making a reservation.
***One big note while eating around Panama City Beach is that a lot of restaurants seem to charge a credit card charge fee. I guess PCB being a huge tourist destination, I feel they tack on that fee for the consumer to pick up the cost.***
While waiting, went to the bar and had the Grayton 30A beach blonde ale which was okay. Bartender was polite. They didn’t have any beer on tap.
Atmosphere was decent as dining area theme matched restaurant name and they played music at a decent level.
First, the parking lot is full. Generally a trustworthy indicator of something good.
Second, the interior is cool tones of blues that reflects a bright and also calm Watertown establishment. A wonderful feature is the T.Vs aren’t playing sports like most bars or public houses, but give tourists an entertaining demonstration of historical points of interests.
The third, and reason we came is the food. Amazing. Our table of 8 had Sangria which was semi sweet. The triple fish is blackened with a choice of 2 sides and we chose the mashed potatos and green beans. The prime rib was paired with the collard greens and grits. The collard greens is made with a lot of ham stock giving it a marvelous rich flavor.
The desserts; peanut butter pie, key lime pie, and cheesecake. The recipes are a family secret. The key lime pie was flavorful with a thin crispy crust.
Finally, the service was attentive without hovering. Drinks were always full. Super Mario was knowledgeable about the food prep and pairings. The owners are available for specific questions and it was enjoyable to see their passion for food.
We are looking forward to dining here again when in town.
