The reason for my visit was to soak up the Swissvale-Rankin nostalgia and get some food. Got a cheese steak battleship and a pop. Cheesesteak hoagie was almost 3 feet long….packed with shredded steak meat, provolone cheese, lettuce, tomatoe and drowned in mayonaise…..oh well. It was hot and good. A meal for three adults. All that is missing is a few pinball machines to play while you wait for your order.

Hole-in-a-triangle type of gem that produced the best Philly cheesesteak sandwiches we’ve ever eaten. Highly recommend visiting. I’m not gonna lie, ordering gave off Seinfeld soup nazi vibes but we seemed to pass the test and the food was amazing, beer was cold, we were served fast and my sandwich cut “for the lady”. Zero complaints!

Excellent cheesteak. The place was busy, but the staff still took my order promptly and the sandwich still had steam when it was served. The sandwich had a bit of a sweet taste and fresh bread. Loaded with so much steak that I used the fork to eat what fell off the sandwich. I had the cruiser cheesteak, but others ordered their signature battleship which is at least two and a half feet long. The dining area was what I expected, an older bar restaurant from another era when the area was full of steel workers.
This place is cash only, but I did see an ATM inside. Located in an older residential area, so parking could be a challenge.

I hate to leave this review because usually I go and there’s so much meat on my sandwich that I can’t even close it but today for some weird reason I got a cheesesteak and there was literally no meat it tastes like cheese and bread… Look at the pictures I think I will never go here again.

Delivered to me thru uber eats said it would take 80 mins for delivery, called store to confirm order, respectful employees that works their were nice to accommodate my order so it didn’t come soggy because I’m 45 mins from the store location… best SANDWICH I’ve had in along time( battleship size) and I got my order within 45 mins from placing my order Thank you TRIANGLE BAR & GRILL!!!!!(DONT FORGET TO GRAB THAT MAC & SALAD & More!!!)

Wow! The Triangle Bar and Grill in Swissvale looks unassuming outside, but inside was bright and welcoming. Francisco (he told us to call him Pancho like his friends do) was so helpful as we were trying to figure out what we wanted. What a salesman too! He convinced us we’d want leftovers for our “long drive tomorrow” (his words, we told him we were from Indy …). When we got our sandwich, it was enough to feed 10 people, easy! Indeed, we had dinner, lunch on the road the next day, another lunch the day after … and we still had some leftover. We ordered the Original Italian Battleship. Great taste, good value. We love to support this type of small business! Give them a try – remember to bring cash only.

Personally, I think the place was quite overrated. I’ve heard a lot about it, and they have acquired a lot of awards and rankings, but it is at the end of the day a simple sandwich shop. Not bad, not great. Just okay. I tried the cheesesteak sandwich in the destroyer size, and I added mushrooms.
I do like that you’re able to add mushrooms, lettuce, and other classic items for free, so a nice way to customize the sandwich. However, that’s really the only somewhat special thing about this place. The portion was okay for the price, but it felt only slightly above average. It was a tasty sandwich, with pretty quality meat, but nothing crazy. I thought there wasn’t quite enough cheese.
All in all, a solid sandwich shop. Nothing crazy but still tasty. Might come back to try some more sandwiches.

Tasty bread, TON of turkey. No cheese. Mayo, Italian Dressing. Triangle Subs has a long history. The establishment itself has an old-timey feel. Place orders at the bar for walk-ins. The menu’s prominently displayed against the back wall. Casino machines on the right.
I am going to say something that some people may not agree with. I found the sandwich to be filling, however it’s taste profile was minimal compared to what I was expecting or heard of this place.
Service was excellent. Parking is street side. Located in the heart of Swissvale. Give them a try and form your own expectations. Mine were not met.
