Azteca is one of the best authentic Mexican restaurants I’ve been to in the area. Their food always comes out hot and steaming, and they serve it with a smile. Not only is every dish tasty, they are plated quite generously, certainly enough to sate the appetite of any large man, let alone your regular sized individual. I really love them, because I’m a vegetarian and they always cater to my special requirements. My favorites are the homemade tamales and chili rellenos. My husband adores the giant steak burritos and my son loves the carnitas and chicken enchiladas. They also have tasty pintos and rice on the side. The service is attentive and fast, I’ve never had to wait a long time on dinner, even on a busy night. Even checkout is nice. The price is right and they are always waiting with a smile to make sure you enjoyed your meal. If you like Mexican fare, this is definitely the place to come on your night off.

We have been going to Azteca since they first opened. When they opened, it was wonderful food and great service. Jaime was awesome! As the staff changed, we noticed both areas declining. They have taken great strides in improving the property which is very nice for dining in. I ordered take out earlier today, only to get home with food I didn’t order. I have no idea what I paid for (my fault for declining a receipt). I live pretty close (under 5 mins away) so returned to get what I actually ordered. They were very nice about getting a new order together, but when I got home, the food was absolutely cold. There’s no way this food was warm when I left the restaurant. It was very disappointing and sadly, the last time I will visit. I will go across town the next time I have a craving. Miss the old days!

Me, my 2 young boys and my wife have gone here for years. We became regulars and friendly with a male waiter. This waiter recently reached out to my wife on FB trying to get a date. It’s very sad, we really enjoyed the restaurant and we thought he was a friendly waiter. Yet all along he had other plans.

Our server was nice and accommodating. I shared a dish with my granddaughter, so he brought another plate without asking. Some places don’t do this. Food was excellent! We got a fried shrimp entree. They are sooo good and I’m picky about my seafood.

I remember when it has taken a first opened a few decades ago. They were one of the first authentic/independent Mexican restaurants in Akron now, the area is inundated with Mexican restaurants. We recently went and met a group of nine on a Saturday night. Crowd was very sparse. Food was very average and not as good as Inonce remembered it.
My biggest complaint is that my group was solicited by a woman who was asking for money for “her mom with cancer”. She went to every table asking for money. We assumed she was an employee, bet when asked she said “I don’t work here”. The staff were very aware this was going on, yet did nothing. While out to dinner with friends, I don’t want to be solicited while eating. Probably won’t be back, which is unfortunate.
