Apparently, there’s a price difference depending on whether you dine in or take out. I placed an order for pickup and was quoted a total over the phone. When we arrived, we decided to sit and eat there instead. The cashier wouldn’t show me the screen she kind of hid it and without any notice, charged me an extra $5.59 on top of the quoted amount. Only afterward did she mention there was a ‘surcharge.’ When I asked for a detailed receipt, that surcharge wasn’t listed on it at all.

I feel SCAMMED. It wasn’t a surcharge they just forcefully added a 15% tip to the bill without asking or informing me.

This place is a scam. I’ve been a loyal takeout customer here for a long time. Today I decided to dine in for the first time and the female owner told me there’s a 12% service fee just to sit and eat!!
Never heard such a stupid thing before. Never returning again.

I was looking for something to eat after shopping at the nearby Upper Canada Mall. I felt like like sushi, and found a place on Google with good reviews, so I decided to try it out.
Well I am happy I decided to go here. The service was really friendly and welcoming. The food was really good and I enjoyed everything that was ordered.
We started with soft shell crab, and tempura appetizers, both were fresh and hot and crispy. For the entrees we got steak bento, and sushi and sashimi combo. I didn’t realize the dinner bento came with tempura, so I ate alot of tempura(lol…sooo good). I enjoyed the steak and the sushi and sashimi was really fresh.
I will gladly comeback, when I visit Newmarket again.

Have eaten here for over a decade (more likely two) and they have NEVER disappointed. The sushi grade is exceptional and everything is made with incredible detail and very fresh. Would recommend sushi, maki or sashimi trays. Spider roll (maki) is amazing.

I was pleasantly surprised by the taste and quality of the food at this sushi restaurant.

It’s small, but clean and inviting. The staff was also very friendly. The prices are among the lowest in our community, and their lunch deals are excellent. It’s a great place for lunch, with plenty of free parking right by the restaurant.

I will definitely be returning!

Good taste and combinations!
We ordered for takeout 4 maki rolls. The Philadelphia roll was very tasty. The L.A. role and Aurora were both very similar but had good taste. The Red dragon was perfect with lettuce and shrimp tempura and with the Salmon sashimi topping! The only complaint is that the miso soup (which had a good recipe with curd cheese cubed in it) wasn’t included as it’s usually included in other sushi restaurants but here we had to pay extra for it. Generally the rolls were fresh and yummy.

The best sushi I’ve had in Canada (outside Vancouver) is at this restaurant. Always fresh and handmade by Calvin. This is true Japanese sushi and it is absolutely delicious.

It was my first time ordering sushi here and I must say I’m very disappointed. It cost me seven dollars for four pieces. I ordered a dynamite roll without fish eggs (my preference) and it wasn’t even a Dynamite roll. A dynamite roll usually has the fish eggs, shrimp tempura, cucumber and avocado. It was just shrimp tempura and pieces of lettuce which I’ve never seen before anywhere… very odd. Now I know why the place was empty. I will not be returning or recommending. Very odd for a place called sushi sushi.

Small place but sat 12 of our family members today.
Had the $10.99 lunch special chicken fried noodle which was made with udon noodle of course.
So much flavour and the chicken wasnt dried out either. Good amount if bean sprout too.
Ordered a Philadelphia roll which was $6.99 for 6 pieces. It was fresh and good but bit smaller than i expected but for $6.99 it was ok for value.
Rest of family enjoyed their food like Tofu Teriyaki, chicken teriyaki bento box, and chicken udon along with cali rolls.
If youre looking for value and good food this is your place. If you need a little more food it wont be too much to add. I would come back for sure with our 4 kids. My noodles were so good i devoured it forgetting to grab a picture sorry
