It was a pleasant restaurant, we had the prime rib whiich was melt in your mouth good but lacked a little flavor. The fried zucchini was really good, the salad was really good. The Biscuits hot out of the oven where yummy. Our waitress was on top of everything.

Found this establishment on Yelp after moving to Arizona. I needed a new place to celebrate Marine Corps birthday and this seemed like just the place. The ribs were real tender and bbq sauce was on point. I also had their brownie sundae for dessert which was really good. Tina was my waitress and she was very professional and friendly. It wasn’t busy when I went around 1530 but they definitely have the room to accommodate for busier times. For sure on every Nov 10th I will be back here.

I loved this place. The food was perfect. Just the way we ordered it and delicious. Good service and it gave an old days feel. We ordered the cowboy cut and that’s how the meals are labeled. I think the one we ordered was like a full pound steak.

We came here to eat on a Tuesday and was pretty quiet. The food and service we received was excellent. We ordered a salad to share a NY strip and the ribs. I feel the price was well worth what we received and I would definitely go back.

My husband liked it. So im giving 4 stars. Nachos were cold. Beans hard, nothing on lower level chips. Asked for no onions on nachos. We both got same steaks. My steak was over cooked. His under cooked. After ordering no onions on the nachos. My steak came out with more onions on top than steak! We are divided on if the potatoes were real, or from powdered. Also cold…. they might get another chance. But it will be awhile.oh yea. The bread was the best part of the meal but we had to ask for it

We stopped in Kingman, AZ for the night on our way to California for Thanksgiving, hoping to grab a good dinner before continuing the next day. After searching Google, we first headed to a Filipino restaurant, but when we got there, it was definitely a “hole in the wall” situation. The street was dark, the sign wasn’t lit, and while there were people waiting for takeout, no one was eating inside. Between the lighting and the uncertainty, we chickened out we decided to try somewhere else.

Enter Dambar.

We’d passed it earlier, and from the outside it looked great, classic western steakhouse vibes. It reminded me of a place in Utah when I was there for work which I really enjoy, so I figured we were good. We were not.

When we walked in, there was no greeter at the desk, not a problem, busy places are like that. But once we were seated, we noticed the restaurant was almost empty. Again, maybe because it was two hours before closing, but the emptiness was definitely a hint of what was coming.

Our server took our order, brought our drinks, and then vanished. Empty glasses? No refills. Food arrives? Still no refills. We had to ask every time. Not exactly the warm steakhouse hospitality we were expecting.

And the food. Well, let’s just say it wasn’t fighting to redeem the experience. It was bland and overcooked. My wife ordered the sampler, and the “chicken” did not look like anything that had ever clucked. I know breading can hide some things, but this looked more like breaded squid auditioning for a role as chicken. The cheese curds were good, but if you mess those up, there might be no hope.

By the end, the empty dining room made complete sense. I’ve been to a lot of steakhouses that stay busy right up until closing. Even Texas Roadhouse, which I don’t think is amazing, but they are packed until the lights go off. Dambar, on the other hand, felt like the staff and the food had already clocked out emotionally.

I honestly don’t understand the 4.1 star rating. Maybe it’s the only steakhouse in the area. Maybe we caught it on an off night. But between the lackluster service and the forgettable food, it just didn’t deliver.

My wife wanted to tip very little, but I convinced her to leave 10% out of courtesy, though it was more generosity than the service earned. Walking out, I told her we probably should’ve just taken our chances with the Filipino place. We could have been robbed, murder, or kidnap. But maybe we would have had good food.

Went in for dinner. They had a prime rib dinner for two for $78. We had a fried mushroom appetizer. We each got soup or a salad. I had the salad with caesar dressing. It was light and refreshing and the tortilla strips were a nice surprise. My husband tried the buffalo chicken soup and it was quite tasty. The biscuits were light and just the right amount if crispy. Our 8 ounce prime ribs were about 12 ounces and cooked to a perfect medium rare. I enjoyed the vegetables and he tried the mash potatoes which were very good. And just when we thought that was it…dessert! We had the chocolate creme pie that was light and chocolaty good. We will be back to try their other options but this was a great deal and alot of great food. Our waitress, Kim, was great, friendly, and helped make the experience.

The food was decent, I really loved the cheese curds. Nomnomnom. Our bartender was fantastic. People seemed friendly. It was clean and well lit with plenty of parking.

My main complaint was the bartender that was coming on shift. I have no idea what perfume she was wearing but it seriously choked me up. I was with other people that didn’t want to leave so I tried to just not breathe but she kept coming to stand right in front of us to apparently gossip with other employees.

I’m not talking about just a little bit of a scent, it was like she marinated in whatever it was. There was a good 3′-4′ bubble around here that kept getting pushed into my breathing space. Seems like a bad idea to wear something that potent when in a position where you get into people’s spaces to take their orders or serve drinks. I’m not asthmatic, but my sympathy for people who are got a severe boost.
