I enjoyed the atmosphere in the dining and lounge area as being nice and quiet so I could har myself converse with my fellows. The extra plants and dim lighting helped make a good ambiance. However, the billiard area with the pool was unplayable due to missing pool balls. The overall activity seemed pretty dead.

As for food, there were parts of my dish I enjoyed and didn’t enjoy. I got Tilapia stew. It was very flavorful, and I loved the soft texture of the tilapia meat itself and the sauce it came with had a very flavorful tomato base. However, being the fish head meant there were too many bones to weed out and that detracted from my experience. Some of the potato sides were a bit bland. The rice tasted great but it was cold. If I were to return, I would get the chicken or ribs with yuca fries next time like my fellow diners. Their dishes had fewer bones and were busting with flavor. Perhaps this is part of my lack of familiarity with African cuisine.

As for the service, our server was nice and polite, and came to deliver our food and updated us once with progress of cooking, but the overall service was extremely slow, it took about an hour to receive our meals which is too long for my liking. While I should show patience for that, an hour seems pretty subpar compared to most restaurants which are able to get food ready in about half that time.

Deserted, had to turn the lights on when we came in after 6 on a Friday night. Tacky and impractical. Fried calimari tasted like it was baked from frozen, and a lot of our calimari were shriveled and yellow. Very unpleasant dining experience.

This place has shoddy business practice. I ordered 6 chapatis which at $4.28 each is hefty and I only received 3. The total was $32.71. They claimed they called but they lied since I had no missed calls from anyone. Instead they put a sticky note stating they tried calling. They didn’t refund half the amount. I called them and the lady said no refund can be given. That is bad service period. It’s sad that now a days people are so greedy. I truly hope this restaurant work on their hospitality and honest practice. I don’t like deception period.

Had a great time here! The server was amazing ,super attentive and made the experience even better. The music was on point, creating a great vibe. The food did take about 20 minutes to come out, but besides that, everything was wonderful. Would definitely come back!

I visited this place for the first time on a Saturday for National Women’s Day, and “terrible” doesn’t even begin to describe the service. We arrived before 10 PM and paid $40 for two people to get in, only to find the place nearly empty.

I ordered a 12-piece wing combo with fries, and after almost an hour of waiting, there was still no food. When I approached the bartender to ask about our order, she claimed they were backed up with too many orders—despite the venue being nearly empty. No apology, no explanation, nothing. At that point, I just asked for a refund.

I wanted to give this place a chance, but I should’ve listened to the reviews. As a Black-owned establishment, the competition is tough, and customer service is crucial. A mandatory class in hospitality would do wonders. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning.

The only bright spot? The DJ. He played great music!

If you come to pick up your order, come in good time. I picked up 2 salads, more than 20 minutes of waiting, detail, the place was not full. Disorganization and lack of respect for the customer. Disappointed.
