I ordered the pork chop and eggs, and while the pork chop had good flavor, nearly half of it was bone, which felt like a poor value for the price. The potatoes were well beyond crispy- dry and overcooked to the point of being tough- and the toast was really just warm bread, not toasted at all. The biscuit tasted like it may have been store-bought, and the gravy had a packaged or mix-like texture and flavor.
On the bright side, the coffee was excellent- fresh, strong and probably the highlight of the meal.
Overall, it wasn’t terrible, but for the price point and the expectations set by their branding and reviews, we left disappointed. There’s potential here, but the execution really needs some tightening up.
Hands down the best chicken fried steak I’ve ever had — tender, juicy, and just melts in your mouth like it came straight from grandma’s cast iron skillet. The French toast was another star of the show — perfectly crisped, soft inside, with warm syrup served in the most unique crystal-like bottle that felt like a special touch.
The mashed potatoes were out of this world. I usually avoid mashed potatoes with the skins, but these were so creamy and flavorful, I couldn’t stop eating. And the green beans that came with the steak? Insane. Fresh, buttery, and cooked to perfection.
To start, they brought out a homemade salsa that tasted like it came straight from a kitchen deep in the heart of Mexico — smoky, rich, and absolutely unforgettable.
Everything felt thoughtful, flavorful, and made with love. This place is a true hidden gem in Hurst, Texas, and you better believe I’ll be coming back. If you know, you know.
I’m not a big fan of beans, but Amy’s refried beans had me scooping the last out of my bowl. They are seasoned well and I love that they top them with a bit of cheese.
I will definitely visit Amy’s again to try their other items.
My picky kids even love it here.
We mostly come for breakfast and it is easily one of our top choices for breakfast and lunch. Really impressed with the food and the staff is always so kind and accommodating.
