I’ve tried the immigrant food location at planet word, which I really liked. So my boyfriend & I tried the location at Ballston. This location is much larger than the planet word location, but the quality of the food is consistent.
What I like about immigrant food is the gastroadvocacy: globally inspired dishes that highlight immigrant cultures.
The food is delicious. I really like the mushroom lomo soltado. I’ve ordered it twice. The Filipino chicken wings were delicious & had a decent spice kick. For this visit, I also ordered the tropical beignets for dessert. I’m going to go back for the Filipino sundae, which I tried at the planet word location. That’s my favorite dessert so far.

Good vibes going to this place. Went during lunch and had the special with the roasted mushroom soup as the headline. It was delicious and I also had their Cuban sandwich. They didn’t use the traditional bread but the ciabatta was fine. My wife had the poke. The $20 special is pretty good for the value.

What an array of flavors! We shared several generous dishes for our meal. The menu changes monthly and thoroughly describes each beautiful dish. We enjoyed our evening tremendously.

My husband was a big fan of the food, ambience, and wait staff. I had the mushroom dish and it was fantastic, I scraped the plate clean. I made the reservation for outside, but the day of, it was way too hot to enjoy eating outside. Without even having to ask, the host set us aside a nice table inside by the window so we could still see outside and be comfortable. Our server was knowledgeable and kind, he made jokes and answered all our questions! I would definitely recommend coming here when you visit.

Great food with a great message. Solid gluten free options. Mushroom soup was so delicious. Looks like not much on the outside but love how they have decorated the inside. Highly recommended

Came in for brunch on a Saturday. It wasn’t busy at all, but we got a reservation. FYI they do charge you $20 a person via Resy if you don’t show up to your reservation. Service was really slow, though they appeared short staffed. Preston our waiter was fabulous though, super funny guy! The bartender was unapproachable. I felt prices for the portion of food was outrageous. $10 for fries (add another $4 if you want Parmesan truffle fries), $14 for tiny bao buns, $5 for a bottled Diet Coke. My bill was $40 for one small entree and drink. No alcohol consumed. The interior is beautiful and they do have outdoor seating but wasn’t available this date likely due to the heat and small wait staff. Don’t have a strong urge to return mainly for pricing.

Had the restaurant week menu that was absolutely delicious! The shrimp ceviche and lamb lettuce wrap skewers were my favorite. I didn’t get a cocktail but I saw some the bar tender cranked out and they were so beautiful. Also their happy hour deals were great! Definitely a fun date night spot, theres food on the menu for everyone (even if you’re picky)

Took a while for anyone to seat us. We were there for happy hour.
They have a $5 happy hour and a good selection of dishes with decent portions. The bartender gave good recommendations which we ordered and did not disappoint. Great mix of “immigrant” food, we’ll def come by again.

My fish and chips tasted pretty good but was very greasy, my wife loved her chicken sandwich. I wanted to get branzino but we went when they were serving brunch so I think we will probably go back eventually. $1 mimosa refills kept us there a little longer than expected. We found paid street parking less than a block away.
