Had such a fantastic late lunch today! The service was truly exceptional – everyone had a genuine smile, which made the experience even better . Our food was served hot and it was amazing to watch it being prepared right in front of us. Plus, there was plenty of seating, no wait time at all around 12:30-1 PM, and ample free parking. Highly recommend!

Super torn because the chicken is absolutely amazing but I definitely feel like it’s overpriced. The rice and charro beans lacked flavor. Pickled onions didn’t taste pickled. The salsa was basically tomato sauce. I wouldn’t knock it until you try it though.

Menu is straight forward. The place is clean. Seems like a locals spot. Had 1/2 Chicken, corn tortilla, beans & rice. Didn’t care for the beans b/c of the tripe however the rice was decent and the chicken was cooked well. The chicken was flavorful with a nice Smokey flavor. The grilled char on the chicken was perfect for me. Great source of protein and pretty healthy minus the tortillas.

A KC hidden gem!!! The food here is so good. Simple menu and there is a reason the chicken. That’s all they have, and it’s all you will want. When you find yourself craving it the next day, you will wish you bought a to go half. The beans are just like my wife’s Abuela used to make. The rice, salsa, and tortillas are so good. Amazing job to everyone at El Pollo Rey!!! Can’t wait to come back.

Delicious wood fired chicken in half or whole. The chicken is absolutely delicious and worth the visit. Meals come with corn tortillas, pickled onions, rice, beans, and a purée salsa. The food is good enough to drive to KC just to enjoy it. Hidden treasure.

This place is out of this world. Chicken tastes absolutely delicious. They grill chicken right in front of you on 10000% wood fired grill. Menu is super simple. You get 1/4, 1/2 or full chicken with sides. The meat is just super fresh and nothing like you have ever had before visiting this place.
