Me and my partner wanted Mexican food after shopping, and were happily surprised to see this place so close! I ordered the quesabirria tacos with consommé which were so juicy, cheesy, and delicious. He ordered two carnitas tacos and said they were great! He’s from California and eats Mexican food fairly frequently, but he said they had the best homemade tortillas he had ever eaten. There were complimentary chips and salsa the owner/waiter left at our table and the salsa was impeccable. My partner also ordered the “drink of the day,” which, on that day, was horchata and it was HUGE. Cropped photo attached. They ask you to pay in cash if you can in order to make sure they get the full amount of your payment rather than it partially going to credit card processors. So while they do take cards, I would recommend bringing cash as I think they more than deserve the full payment for how great their food is! Five stars!

The food is genuinely very enjoyable. It’s not the craziest thing ever, but it’s great! the service was quick, kind, and helpful, and the atmosphere is simply darling. The decoration is so cute!

I will say I am not a connoisseur of Mexican food. I love Mexican food and have eaten it all over the country and even in Mexico. I have also been privileged to eat in a few home kitchens of talented Mexican cooks, so take this review for its worth to you. I wasn’t planning on leaving a review at first, so sorry for the already enjoyed dishes pictured.

Food: I have been to the food truck once, and it was good. I saw they had a storefront and my wife was in the mood for some birria tacos. Our usual place is a little far away and often has a wait so we took a chance and gave Tacos Los Angeles a shot. The tacos were delicious. My wife does not care for onions, I love onions, we ordered one plate with onions and one without. We were surprised that not only did the tacos on her plate, come without onions, but also the consumé. A detail my wife appreciated. Tacos were fresh, cheesy, and flavorful. They were not overly soggy.

We both ordered the agua fresca. Unfortunately, they were down to only one cup left, so we shared. The serving was more than ample for both of us as it was served in a 32oz cup. The flavor of the day was orange pineapple. Some of the best we’ve had, probably the highlight of our visit.

Chips and salsas were great. We also ordered the churro cheesecake to go, which was also tasty.

Service & Atmosphere: Service expectations I personally feel is dependant on the type of restaurant you are going to. This was clearly a family run restaurant, perhaps of varying generations. I personally found the informal nature of the service endearing and appropriate. There was evident pride of ownership with homemade Easter decor at each table. One of the owners/ managers was sitting at a table next to us doing work and would occasionally engage in conversation.

Overall: If you are looking for good food, friendly service, and supporting a local family run business, I think you’ll have a great experience. If you are looking for the answer to all your hopes and desires of Mexican cuisine in this establishment you might be left wanting, but I don’t feel that is this establishment’s goal.

Okay spot. Tacos are made with fresh tortillas which is very nice. We got one asada Taco which was seasoned well. The torta was average, the same as any other torta, nothing special and the pupusa was really bad. 70% masa and very little beans or cheese. It was also very dry. It didn’t come with the sala roja and the Curtido was very dry. It also would have been nice if it had a small salsa bar of some sorta. We wanted extra toppings and weren’t aware we couldn’t help ourselves like at other places. We were wanting chiles en vinagre, pico de gallo, more limes and things of that nature. Overall it was just okay, we would stop again if nothing else was opened but wouldn’t go out of our way to go back.

My husband and I love street tacos, but I don’t love eating on the side of the road so this place is a good compromise The tacos were delicious, we tried the Lengua (special- not offered every day), the birria, and the Al pastor. All were great but the lengua were by far the best! The corn tortillas seem homemade and the salsas are great! I also tried a bean and cheese pupusa, which wasn’t as good as others I’ve tried. The curtido wasn’t very acidic and the salsa Roja lacked flavor, but if they improved those 2 things I think it would help a ton. Our waitress was kind and talked us into trying some tres leches, which was delicious! We’ll be back for sure!

This place is a cute hole in the wall. You can tell the owner cares about his restaurant. I had the birria tacos and the meat was so soft and tender, the consome was a perfect touch. I was nervous because I have my favorite birria place and I’ve tried many, but this place did not disappoint. And they’re affordable. The place was super super clean. Which I appreciate. I’d recommend and come here again.

I came here because of their viral Instagram post, and I am glad I did!

Their menu has the right kind of variety. Most Mexican restaurants, it seems, don’t serve Pozole, for example, let alone advertise it the way TLA does. While the too hot weather kept me from trying their Pozole, our server Margarita assured me it is top notch (we’ll be back to try it).

The tacos my wife and I had were top notch. I had the quesabirria (which were on par with Del Barrio’s quesabirria) and my wife went with the asada and chicken tacos. Very tasty.

The chips and salsa came with 4 types of salsa to try, each bringing its own flavor to the table.

Our server Margarita is everything you could want in a server. If you typically pay with a card, make sure you bring cash. Their point-of-sale system does not enable tips the expected way, so the only way you can give a tip is with cash.

Ordered the flautas and pastor taco. Food tasted great. 5/5 on food quality. However $18 for rolled tacos $4 for a tiny street taco.. Too expensive for what you get. I was expecting larger serving sizes.

I have been eating at their mobile location for years their tacos are delicious and are made with fresh tortilla. I haven’t tried much on the menu yet, but I’m looking forward to it. Tacos are slap yo mama good, though.

I loved Tacos Los Angeles! They’ve had a successful food truck for a few years and have had this brick and mortar restaurant for several months. We loved the chips and variety of fresh salsas. The avocado salsa was incredible and the perfect heat level for me! I ordered the corn quesadillas with birria. They make the corn tortillas from scratch and they were delicious. My son had the birria tacos with consommé and my husband and daughter had burritos. The carne asada was also a great option. I ordered a pupusa with birria to go. It came with cortido and the avocado salsa. It was so good! I would highly recommend giving this restaurant a try. The service was excellent and the owners really take pride in their food. The restaurant was clean and inviting and we enjoyed our visit. I’ll go back!
