From the creative cocktails to the downright delicious food, Dyberry Forks needs to be your next date night spot. The staff is amazing and the quality of their products is insane. I highly recommend the lavender duck confit and the chestnut mushroom ice cream!
Our waitress was very nice and enthusiastic about the food and ownership of the restaurant. It really added to the experience!
The true star of the evening though was the food! It felt like every bite was well planned and flavors complimented each other perfectly in just about every dish.
We started with a couple of cocktails. An espresso martini for my husband and a lavender Tom Collins for me, at the server’s recommendation. My drink was nice and light and reminded me of a summer lemonade.
We ordered the corn and scallion pancakes (10/10 delicious!) and the coconut shrimp (9/10 – would be a 10 if they skipped the spicy tartar sauce and gave double pineapple sauce). It was a delightful start – I seriously could have eaten another order of the savory pancakes myself as a meal.
We moved on to a chopped salad (his rating 8/10, mine a 5/10 – It seemed a bit chaotic to me) and a generous portion of their soup of the day – creamy mushroom (10/10). The mushroom soup was fantastic. I was sad to see the bottom of the bowl.
For our entrees, we both ordered smoked brisket dishes. He went classic with brisket over mashed potatoes (8/10) and I ordered the brisket sandwich with fries (10/10). The brisket sandwich was a well constructed bite with a pickled onion and cucumber to add some fresh crunch and brightness to balance the smoked meat. It gave me Banh Mi vibes. Awesome!
For dessert we ordered the Madeleines with chocolate sauce. The madeleines were the perfect texture and tasted so very rich and buttery. I personally didn’t even think the chocolate sauce was needed – a perfect little bite to end the meal!
Simply amazing food, atmosphere and service! We both were thrilled with the entire experience. A peaceful atmosphere which was very welcoming.
Parts of our meal were very well executed and delicious, such as the smoked White Fish puff pastry and the pickled onion and capers that accompanied the salmon. The salmon was well seasoned and properly cooked. The brisket was tender.
We did, however, feel that some flavor combinations were a bit confusing, such as the sweet cabbage and the heavy use of oregano in the brisket.
We also, strangely, got a call half an hour after we were seated advising that they couldn’t hold our table any longer. They were, seemingly, under the impression that we hadn’t shown.
We would try them again though.
