Delicious as can be.
The stuffed crab was the best i had yet.
The fried shrimp the

And the fish is cooked in its own oil with no mixing of cooking oils with other foods .

This place never disappoints. While looking over their lunch menu, I decided to branch out and get non-seafood items. The hamburger steak did not disappoint! The fried okra was some of the best I’ve had. My boy loved the fried fish sandwich and chocolate pudding as well. This has been on our annual list of restaurants for several years and will definitely continue to be.

Never disappoints! I have visited more than once and if you’re looking for great not franchised chain seafood joints this is the place! They even have a little bar if you’re just grabbing a drink and bite by yourself! Oysters are good sized and always top notch!

Stopped by on a lark on our way back from Fort Morgan. We enjoyed the food and the price wasn’t too much given the quality of the food.

We had the Fried Shrimp Po Boys and a side of hushpuppies. Everything was tasty but I wish they’d have put on the remoulade sauce!

Definitely will be back!

I would eat here all the time if I lived closer! FABULOUS and FRESH seafood!
FRIENDLY and ATTENTIVE (but not overbearing) service!
FUN atmosphere (great patio!)
I was greeted instantly with a friendly smile. Dogs are welcome on their shaded patio.
Sara, my server, was fantastic–friendly, funny, professional. She made great recommendations since I’m new to Gulf Shores and everything on the menu looked so good.
The drinks were good and actually had a decent quantity of booze, not like the other touristy places in Gulf Shores. (Margarita, Bushwacker).
The fresh, raw oysters were HUGE, sweet, juicy, slightly tangy. The steamed Royal Reds platter was delish!! When I passed by other tables, their seafood platters looked amazing. The prices are good, quality is excellent, and serving size is generous. Their seafood is so fresh and tasty.
The Key Lime Pie was as good as mine (I used to make KLP professionally as a Chef when I lived in the Caribbean, and there are a lot of awful KLPs in this area!).
I can’t wait to go back and try some crab, more fresh oysters, beignets, and different cocktails!
Thanks for a delicious lunch, best I’ve had on Gulf Shores!

My family and I were cruising around looking for a spot to eat dinner. We noticed King Neptune’s after passing by and decided to go back and give them a try. We were all very pleased with this decision. We started out with hush puppies which were good. The entrees is where they really shined and surprised us. I went with the shrimp and fish platter, the wife with grilled grouper, daughter with alfredo, and son with catfish. The food was well cooked, but the seasoning is what made it excellent. This was one of our best meals while in the area and definitely warrants a return visit.

After trying some places on Dauphin Island we decided to try our luck at a place in Gulf Shores when we visited Fort Morgan.
Food was DELICIOUS and worth the money paid. Far from “cheap” at $18-$50 a plate depending on what you order but we left FULL. Unlike other places we spent similar amounts of money and walked away hungry. In the photos below the “empty” spot on the sample platter is where the corn and potatoes were when served…that dish was based on “current market prices”-with 2 types of shrimp and crab legs. The alfredo plate was a kids plate-she didn’t care for the sauce but her sister did so if you have a picky eater avoid that.
Service was great, Friendly and fast.
Will definitely make this a place we return to!

Skip the 2 hour wait everywhere else and go here! Great menu, reasonable prices, friendly service. The shrimp and grits and gator bites appetizer (blackened) were our fave dishes of those we ordered.

The rating of this place had initially removed it from my restaurants to try. After running into 1+ hour waits for tables at surrounding seafood joints, desperation and starvation drove me here. It looks like an old gas station turned into a restaurant- on a budget, not a place I’d generally pick for a dinner. We sat out side at red picnic tables, it didn’t feel classy BUT the food and the servers made up for the ambiance. It was lively and fun. The servers were attentive and happy- seemingly difficult to find even in the fine dining locations. The char-grilled oysters were good, the fish tacos were great, they had king crab legs which are hard to find at most places lately. I did not find them over seasoned- I read others complaining about that. My only gripe.. I hope the owner reads these reviews, you need drawn butter with crab legs NOT margarine- fix it, I’d knock a star for that but I feel like your rating doesn’t do this place justice should be 4.5 🙂

This is not the first visit we’ve had to King Neptunes, but I have to say it’s the worst.

To begin with, there wasn’t a wait to get a table, but there was an unfortunate wait to get our food.

Our server may have had a rough day — I’m not sure — but that translated to poor service. We waited fifteen minutes to even see our server, fifteen minutes to have our drinks dropped off, and easily thirty minutes to get our food… when other tables were getting theirs with speed and ease. As someone who works in food service, I certainly would have considered the kitchen times. This wasn’t that, truly I think we were forgotten.

But… the kitchen wasn’t the greatest either. I’m not sure what’s changed, but their food was bland, my PoBoy was missing lettuce and tomato, and it took multiple asks for remoulade for the sandwich.

The flounder wasn’t seasoned. The tartar was good, though!

All in all, I’m bummed that it wasn’t a better meal. It’s always been excellent before. If they manage to stay in business (and I hope they do), we’ll try again one day.
