Great place for Mexican/Italian fusion. Inside is a small space, lightly decored, and can get a bit warm in there. There’s also a back patio for additional seating. The pasta is delicious! Portions are decent but you should get a main and side/small plate to get full.

Service was good. Friendly staff. There’s street parking but you might have to walk a block or two.

Great food (small dishes, but with the heavier side, the portions were more than enough). Street parking

Food/Drink- 5 stars
Rosita- well balanced and delicious! great start to the evening

Elote agnolotti- this is their signature dish for a reason. Seasoned well, hearty, and with the right amount of chew. I could eat so much of this

Duck duck duck- incredibly hearty and loved the bit of wok hei in the linguine. A bit on the saltier side

Al Pastor Pork belly- same as above. Super hearty and delicious. My only compliant is that the skin can really get stuck in your teeth and be slightly unpleasant

Pistachio horchata affogato- it was good, but pretty standard

Service- 5 stars
Food was out quickly and servers were great. Great experience all around

Bottom Line
Enjoyed the Mexican-Italian flavors here. Do come ready for a heavy meal though

Mexican and Italian is such a unique fusion, and my fiancé and I absolutely loved it. Everything was delicious. We received complimentary champagne for Valentine’s Day and a light treat. The staff was incredibly friendly, and it was such a nice touch that the chef came out to greet us.

We split the meal. We got a cob salad and a burrito, both were a good size serving. The spiciness of the dressing was not over powering, and very good. The burrito had good flavor, the tortilla was cooked well and they even cut the burrito for us. The show stopper was the elote croissant, it was devine and oh so good. I also had a cafe de la olla, which was a little too sweet for me but it was pretty good.

Amiga Amore is a really unique Mexican and Italian fusion restaurant in the Highland Park area slightly north east of DTLA. It feels like you’re eating inside someone’s home so it really gives off a comfortable atmosphere and you can tell that it is most likely a neighborhood gem. Our server was very polite and everything that we ordered arrived fairly quickly. We were able to find a street parking spot right out front of the restaurant for our 8 PM dinner. The price is very fair and I felt the portion sizes were generous.

The menu is pretty small, but it has some very unique items on it. Everything has a mix of Mexican and Italian ingredients and even though all the flavors and ingredients are recognizable, the combination of them is very unique. I really applaud the idea of this place and overall I thought it was pretty good although some of the dishes had some minor issues.

The first item that I ordered was the Sweet Potato Ceviche, and I thought this was pretty good. It was unique in that it is a vegetarian ceviche and the Tigers Milk really added a unique flavor to it. It was a decent sized portion so it would be easy to share this. Next came the Citrus Endive Salad, which was a special for the day. I especially liked the Chamoy sorbet with it and I thought it was a really great light summer salad. I chose the Ossobuco for my entrée and thought it was pretty good. Some of the pieces had a considerable amount of fat on it which I had to cut off and I wish the bone marrow would’ve been more substantial, but overall, I really enjoyed it. One of the other diners at my table got the Pork Belly Al Pastor and he was not a fan of it. The Al Pastor seasoning was not very pronounced, and the belly was extremely fatty, almost overly so. Aside from that I felt the dishes were pretty good overall, and I would give it a try next time I am in the area.

Absolutely loved this Mexican Italian fusion restaurant! Each of their dishes were packed with singular flavor. Very attentive and charming staff throughout our meal. Definitely give their cocktails a try too! Had a delicious espresso martini that was sake based.

Doesn’t get better than this. This restaurant blew me off my feet. It was unpretentious, the service was homey, and the food was just spectacular.

I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed this meal, by far top 3 best restaurants in Los Angeles right now.

Elote and Duck Duck Duck were highlights, just BOMB dishes with decadent flavours.

The fusion idea was interesting and the food was ok. Their wine and drinks were really good. We came on a Friday (before Valentine’s day), so the restaurant was really loud and busy. The servers were really nice, but we did get charged for an item that never came. Overall, I’d like to try this spot again, but when they’re less busy.

I’m usually anti-fusion restaurants, but I had heard such amazing things about Amiga Amore I had to give it a try. We made a last minute reservation on a Friday night and were happy to be accommodated with any wait or hassle. We enjoyed the back outdoor space with cute decor and plenty of room to enjoy your meal and company. I got the special cocktail which was a cumquat Bee’s Knee’s with smoke (yummy tartness). Then shared the Elote Agnolotti which was the favorite. This to me was a perfect balance of mexican flavor cooked in an italian form. Delicious corn filling and elote topping. Next up, we shared the Chile Colorado Rigatoni. The prime beef was cooked well, but this dish didn’t wow me with its fusion creativity. Finally we shared the pork chop special. The chile verde sauce was popping with flavor and pork chop was cooked well, but again the fusion didn’t come through for me. For dessert, we got the pie of the day which was a nectarine and plum butter crust pie. Holy heck that pie was the perfect way to end. I was so glad to try this funky spot, but would only come back for the elote dish or try something new!

I really wants to give this place more stars however the service was not good. The server serve food on our table without even telling us what was delivered and walk off right away. While we had fun playing guessing the foods game we thought that kinda rude to be such a rush.

Atmosphere: The music was very noisy . Our table was so small ,it feels very cramp. If you are chubby ,the table I had was definitely not for you.
Overall the quality of the foods i would give 1/5 . My steak delivered to me very
cold and too salty. I really don’t like cold steak so that was very disappointing. My husband also said that his foods was too salty. For 2 person dinner with one entree each came out to almost 200$. ( Without drink ) It’s definitely overpriced for hole in the wall place with not so friendly service. We didn’t order dessert. I was kinda bummed out that foods did not live up to my standard.
Luckily there is a bar + arcade = barcode next door from this restaurant… The drinks, foods, service and atmosphere there was amazing Which made my night special.
