We have been regularly getting food from Imperial Wok for our family of 7 for the past 5+ years. Of all the local Chinese food locations and buffet restaurants, the quality and taste of the food here is best. (1) The portions are right size (we get the dinners), (2) the price is about right, (3) they are fast (we tend to drive by the location and order, wait about 10-15 minutes) and take home the food. This is a family-owned and operated restaurants, mom, dad, and kids all work there (we’ve seen the kids grow up there). There is limited on-prem dining (maybe 4 tables/booths of 4 people). Our usual is: chicken with broccoli with added garlic sauce, beef with broccoli with added garlic sauce, the kids love the orange chicken.

This is my go to Door Dash delivery spot when I arrive in Rochester for appts.
I typically order something different each time. But the regular egg rolls and the sugar donuts are always on the menu for us.
This year though, the Egg Rolls are significantly smaller than before and their taste not quite the same. The mushroom chicken vegetables are wonderful. I ordered plain lo meun as a substitute for the fries rice. The noodles and and sauce are wonderful. My comment is that for some reason the whole meal tastes smokey…somewhere between liquid smoke and cigarette smoke.
It was just a strange taste when I know how yummy this place is.
I will give it a chance again next year as I love it is local family owned and they have been 110% perfection the prior years.

Wish they not put Chinese food like Mexican food in a bowl for being Asian from NW Rochester. Their customer seems to be Latino men.

Unfortunately my visit wasn’t the best. The food seems high priced (but might be competitively priced when comparing to other area Chinese ). I was expecting way better food quality for the prices. I would try other area Chinese food before coming back. There really isn’t much dining option inside here. It is more of a take out location.

We definitely have made it a family staple to come up here and get our Chinese only from this place, the food is always fresh and hot and very flavorful, not to mention it’s not too shabby on the portion really well, the staff is amazing and they always have a good attitude when you come to the door, not just for your order but overall in general and they’re very helpful on what they do, I would say this is definitely why the number one places I would eat my Chinese and the timing was really nice!
