Being new to the Ames we thought this place looked amazing and it always smells so good! You walk in beautifully decorated smells amazing and a very interesting menu. We ordered two sandwiches to go and one of the most decadent looking cinnamon rolls I have ever seen in my life! There were two tables of four that came in after us that got served before us and one in fact it already left. When we finally got her order it was for us to eat there the bread by itself was good extremely dense very heavy. Not something I would ever recommend making a sandwich out of. The cinnamon roll looked and smelled so good it was like eating a brick! The frosting was really really amazing but that was about all it was heavy and very dense. Not somewhere I would ever recommend anyone to eat. I felt as everything I ate hit the bottom of my stomach and I weighed 40 lb more walking out than I did going in. They need to steer clear of sandwiches and cinnamon rolls whatsoever. Stick with what you know when you’re good at make bread the bread is absolutely delicious for sandwiches you got to be crazy! They were dry sandwiches and then the heavy bread not a good combination at all sorry great harvest bakery but you can mix the cafe part. And way overpriced! Two sandwiches to drinks and one cinnamon roll was $25

I had the “bestest” BLT on the divided bread today. It’s both honey whole wheat and white bread. The tomato was as red as Rudolf’s nose and the bacon, of which there was “ton”, was so tasty and cooked to perfection. I bought a blueberry scone to bring home and divided it into fourths. What a treat it will be for breakfast the next four days. I highly recommend Great Harvest Bakery and Cafe. It’s awesome!

I have eaten here a couple of times before and enjoyed the food and atmosphere. My most recent experience was not good. The turkey, cheese and bread on my half-sandwich were all fine, but the lettuce was rotten. I can overlook a random bad piece of lettuce in a salad, but someone actually placed that lettuce on my sandwich. Yuck!

Great little place for bakery items. I have visited here several times and had one of their hot sandwiches cooked after you order. They offer breads, cookies and breakfast sandwiches, pastries etc.

Great looking and tasting foods! Though I myself only got a bunch of the sweeter options, I have whole faith in the sandwiches and soup of the day, too.

This is a great spot to meet an friend and have lunch. The food is awesome and the tables are great to sit and catch up. They have great coffee too! Try the Cubano on Dakota bread. It’s my favorite!

First visit to Great Harvest Bakery and Cafe. Overall nice new store, clean and spacious. Sandwich was pretty good, a little overpriced, but fairly tasty. Service was fast and friendly, would recommend!

Overall a very good experience, good atmosphere and solid food for a good price. Admittedly not a fan of the monkey bread though, sugar hardens at the bottom making it kinda unappetizing . Other than that it’s a very good place to eat

I’d like to give this place a higher rating because the food is excellent. Unfortunately, I’ve placed my order online 3 times and had problems every time. The first time, I was quoted 30 minutes until my food was ready. It took just over an hour. Second and third time, I showed up after the 20 minute wait time I was told after placing my order. I get to the location and preparations for my food haven’t even been started. If you’re on a lunch break from work and only have 30 minutes, do not order here.
