The pizza crust is like none I’ve never had.
The sauce was perfect,fresh!
The meatball was perfect as was the pasta.
Order the water it’s fine!!!!
We got the single order of the Panzanella Salad and it was really nice and refreshing. It had tomatoes, cucumbers, green onions, house croutons, mozzarella, salami, white balsamic vinegar, and olive oil.
It was the perfect refreshing compliment to our Crisp Eggplant Pizza! The pizza was topped with a tomato or white sauce (we chose tomato), mozzarella, breaded eggplant slices, shaved Parmesan, and fresh basil.
To round out a great meal, we got the Tiramisu. It came served in a cup which we found unusual for a tiramisu, but boy was it good! It was cookies, mascarpone, whipped cream, espresso, chocolate, and marsala. You could really taste the espresso and the cookies soaked everything in beautifully.
So glad that Luna opened up in Clayton and we hope to be back soon!
TLDR – Seek another restaurant.
I grew up in Italy For the first 20 years, then my parents and I moved to the US, we all know how to cool, we have family recipes and went out often while in Italy.
Today, we had a rough day so while traveling we saw this place. There were very few people in the restaurant, and more servers standing idle than I have ever seen + a “we’re hiring” sign. So we expected to be seated rather quick. It took 20 minutes to get a table all while we were staring at 5 free tables. The staff just kept looking around at eachother, talking, and doing nothing. I know how servers work here, they have assigned tables and everything, but this was not ok.
We got seated and they brought out an unlabeled bottle, that looks like a reperposed wine bottle. They started pouring and said “anything else other than water”. We asked what kind of water it was, they said “tap water”. We were disgusted right away, and asked if it was even filled and they said “I think so”.
We asked for different water and they said we could only get that if we paid per person for a sealed bottles of sparkling water. We rejected that and decided to just get some drinks.
The drinks were awful, watered down and gross. We asked for wine, the server was very rude and didnt even apologized. The wine was okay at best. For a place that is attempting to be fancy, they are doing terrible.
We ordered a few apps, they came kind of quick, but they all were rather small portions and not very well done.
We got our pizza after about an hour and it was just okay again. The crust was done well on the outer edges, lots of leopard spots, but the center was soggy and undercooked on all of the pizzas. If you dont like the taste of Char, you will kot like this pizza. If you somehow like char and also like soggy puzza, this is the place for you.
The deserts were for sure a spin on the authentic, not terrible hut also not really something that hit the spot.
Our bill was over $200 and I have to say it was not worth it at all. We will not be coming back.
I wish this business luck, because it will need it to survive.
