The Best. After 30 years of enjoying Sushi/Sashimi that is my top pick. I like old style Maki (Seaweed) rolls, with wild salmon and tuna. Nowhere ever have I seen Maki rolls so stuffed with excellent raw fish. Not even close. See pics. And the Maki price is great. Everything here is as good as possible. Excellent Chicken Karage made from scratch. All the rolls are sensational. Friends all love Haruki, and agreed it is amazing.
They don’t serve Goma-ae (spinach salad) which I like. That’s the only negative I could find here.

If you’re thinking of checking this place out, it boils down to what you’re looking for. We’ve come here about 4 times in the last month and the verdict is that it’s worth the try, but for specific things.

Their menu is fairly unique. They started out more as an izakaya so there are some dishes that you don’t really see anywhere else in these parts. The spicy mala clam and angry mentaiko cream udon are really good and definitely worth a visit.

But their ramen game is very Langley. On my last visit, the egg yolk was cold (i.e. refrigerated) and some parts of the chashu had char and other parts didn’t, cut thick and lacking sous vide tenderness.

Also, the sushi has been hit and miss. The fish seems ok and their hamachi particularly was good, but the rice is not consistently made. When it is not good, the rice is too wet and sticky, lacking the sushi rice flavor. But other times it was ok.

On the other hand, the do have real wasabi and so that’s always a treat.

I think there is a difference between the day and night crew, the night being much of a better experience.

The background music is basically a 90s playlist, and I think it’s part of their theme.

Their service is friendly and attentive and they do seem to care about their customers which is what honestly bumped up the rating from 3.5 to a 4.

We will definitely come back to have meals here with people in the future, but with a bit of wariness in mind.

They were very busy. So I feel the service may have been better if it was less busy or they had more staff on. We were told there were not enough cups for the four of us to have both tea and water (this has never happened to our family before). In general the food came fast. We received chicken teriyaki instead of beef but took it anyways as we were hungry. We ordered a to go order when we were done and she didn’t punch it in. So she brought me the bill and it wasn’t on there. I asked about it and she said they were just making it now and added it to the bill. So I had to wait an extra 10 minutes for the to go order (with no where to wait) while my family waited in the car (because they obviously needed the table we were at).

The atmosphere was nice but open dining concept. Music not too loud so easy to talk with each other. But you can hear other customers conversations too!

The bathroom was clean.

They have quite a huge variety on their menu, sure to please everyone. We ordered a bit of our usual and a some of their unique items. The Salsa queen Roll was so delicious-i enjoyed it immensely and would highly recommend it! Hawaiian Roll was good. The Beauty and the beast roll was very unique but not something I would order again. My husband seem to enjoy it tho.

I had such a great experience when I came to Haruki. The staff were all super welcoming and kind and the chef even checked in on us to make sure everything was good. The highlight of the evening was definitely the mala cream udon and the sushi. The drinks are also really good if you want a mix of sweet but refreshing. Definitely recommend!

Had dinner at Haruki Restaurant in Walnut Grove and absolutely loved it! I tried their Spicy Chirashi Don and it was perfect — fresh sashimi, crisp veggies, sweet mango, and that just-right kick of spice that wakes up your taste buds without being too much. Every bite had a great balance of flavors and textures.

The atmosphere here is super cozy too. They were playing great music in the background, and the staff were so friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. Definitely a place I’ll be coming back to — highly recommend if you’re craving fresh Japanese food with a flavorful twist!
And did I say it was a great portion ^^__^^. Sesame ice cream is a truly amazing!

I had a really nice lunch here. The prices are reasonable, the atmosphere is great, portions were great, and the service was excellent. The food is a mix of Japanese, fusion dishes, rolls, and a good variety overall.
They also have a wide selection of drinks, including sake, draft beer, and sake cocktails.
I’d recommend this place for many different occasions.

Food is three stars at best.

Hamburg sauce wasn’t a real demi-grace, but more of a ketchup base.

The cream udon could also use some finesse. Onions could be cooked more and the sauce have more depth.

As for the cucumber salad, this is more thai/Vietnamese cuisine than Japanese bistro. How does this fit into the menu?

And the chicken skewers were dry and very plain. Definitely not the real deal, far from a izakaya.

Not sure why this place is so highly rated.

Food presentation was good. The Agedashi Tofu was my favourite out of the 4 dishes because of the sauce. The squid didn’t stay crispy for long. The Ramen can use a bit of improvement on the broth, but the Tonkotsu was really flavourful. The texture of the noodles reminds me of instant noodles. Service was friendly and accommodating.

Every single dish was absolutely delicious and you can really taste the chef’s care in every bite. Honestly, this was the best restaurant I’ve tried in Canada so far!!! ❤️

The fried dishes were perfectly crispy like the definition of how frying should be done, almost like it was made by a master. The Hamburg steak which I heard is handmade by the owner, was incredibly tender and even better than the one I had at a famous spot in Osaka It wasn’t salty at all just perfectly seasoned.

The sushi was so fresh that even someone trying sushi for the first time would enjoy it!!! And you absolutely have to try the black sesame ice cream to finish it’s a must!!

On top of the amazing food the atmosphere is great, the place is spotless and the service was perfect This place is 100% worth the trip out to Langley. I can’t recommend it enough ❤️❤️❤️
