We came on a weekday for lunch and ordered pork cheek ramen and maru ramen. The wait wasn’t long for food to be served. The portion was quite big, and they gave generous portions.
The pork cheek was easy to eat and chew. I quite enjoyed it. The noodles’ texture wasn’t too hard to bite. My hubby enjoyed his Maru ramen bowl, with lots of toppings. The staff was friendly.
The restaurant is connected to Moo Moo Tea Shop if you want to get a drink.

I’ve eaten a fair amount of Ramen. This ranks amongst the best. I had the Maru Ramen and from the moment the bowl was placed onto the table, I could smell the deep aroma of flavor. Let’s start with the garlic and the pork broth…was great from first taste to last drop. Perfect amount of spice heat but not too spicy and same for salt level. Ramen has a bite and the pork Char siu has that nice char and was excellent but was second to the generous pork cheek slices. Both char siu and pork cheeks were buttery tender and luscious. I’m not sure of the toppings but I truly enjoyed this bowl of yummy.

Too pricey and bad quality, overly salty with no veggies for their tonkotsu. A traditional soup should be complete with everything!!! I just taste salt overly salted. They burn the pork with a burner I think and is disgusting! It ruined the whole soup taste and flavor, just bitter! I came so far for nothing. Their chilli oil is just plain red oil, and not even the expensive garlic chilli oil, that’s disappointing for the price! For this price $20, another place has a complete ramen soup with all the veggies and not bitter burnt meat! Truly bad quality and waste of money! Yuck!

Came in when it was a little slow so got to see how it is when ideal on a Sunday afternoon. The staff was friendly but did notice they didn’t refill our waters once and to even check on us. But I will give benefit of doubt since it was just one person working. Good though was excellent as I got the Akamaru and the dumplings. Which both were just excellent! Definitely am coming back here.

Great spot in Elk Grove to get some delicious Ramen. They have a nice menu and even some vegan and vegetarian options. Had a work luncheon there. Plenty of seating for parties. Friendly staff. Most importantly reasonable prices and yummy food. All in our party ordered something different and everyone loved what they got. Plan on bringing food home as the meals are enough for two.

Stopped here by chance with my nephew and sister. Honestly the ramen was amazing, the broth was really good with lots of flavor. We each ordered something different. Garlic noodles with parm were also nice, food looked beautiful and the people working here were extremely friendly. Overall environment was friendly and relaxed.

So I will say I have waited to post this review because I enjoy consistency. We have been to Maru ramen bar now five times. The fifth time was this past Wednesday for our first New years Day dinner out.
No joke every single time we have gone the consistency of the flavors, the texture of the noodles, and the quality of service has always been superb.
Even at it’s busiest times, you will always have someone greeting you that lets you know what are your options on where to sit and they always greet you with a smile as you enter the restaurant.
I really enjoy this restaurant not only because of the amazing food which I’ll talk about in a little bit, it is also the Ambiance that’s there. Don’t get me wrong we are not talking about super elaborate decorations it’s just simple items within the restaurant like the tree in the middle that has bar seating around it, the signs and banners that are above the cash register slash cooking area that because they are simple doesn’t take away from what is really meant to have your focus on which is the food.
So speaking of the food like I said I love love a flavorful Ramen broth and again we’ve been here five times and we’ve tried different ramens and each one has such a wonderful umami flavor. And I really enjoyed that you can customize it a little bit more with the different options you can add on for an additional cost of course. Seriously though you do not have to add anything else flavor-wise because again these broths hold up so well on their own.
Also we get the wonton dumplings every single time we go because they are perfection. The chili oil that they have them in is the perfect amount of spicy with a little bit of that oil. We usually take a few bites of our ramen and then have the dumpling because we like the two flavors combined

I just moved to Elk Grove last summer and just found out about this spot. My partner is vegan, so we were looking for a good spot for vegan ramen. We absolutely love their vegan tantanmen ramen! It has a rich smokey spicy flavor and the noodles are always cooked well.
