We heard great things about the baked goods at Pop’s and bought of couple of boxes for Valentine’s Day…and oh my lord…they were some of the best cookies we’ve had, truly! Our favorites were the classic chocolate chip and double chocolate chip — followed very closely by the strawberry Nutella. Fair warning: each cookie is a meal in and of itself, and warrants its own tall glass of milk If we lived any closer, Pop’s Corner would be a dangerous place indeed. It’s already our go-to whenever we are in a 15-mile radius. We even had a box shipped to DC! Can’t recommend them enough. These cookie are, in a word, heaven.
Update – went back to Pop’s Corner for lunch. The Cobb salad and buffalo chicken wraps were absolutely delicious. Our waitresses were super nice. Highly recommend you to grab a bite at Pop Corner before you leave Point Pleasant!
The potatoes were great! The monte cristo however, was very ham-heavy, and felt overall unbalanced. The pancakes and breakfast sandwich are good and exactly as expected. The toast was similarly good. The Breakfast burrito, though, was incredible.
The cheese curds were also very very good— 6/5 stars we could not get enough.
The vibes are a little hipster-millennial, but also very comfortable and clean. Our server was very polite and attentive, however there was a bit of a wait to receive our food. This could be due to the fact it was a Sunday morning.
Definitely try the lavender honey latte. The coffee is also wonderful.
Overall, this is definitely a spot to try. Right next to the train station so very convenient (yet busy, so try to find parking in advance!).
We will be coming back to Pop’s!
We came for breakfast and was not disappointed at all. The staff was nice and friendly and the coffee was good and BIG. The place is VERY clean and it was probably the cleanest bathroom I have ever seen in a restaurant. I would definitely return. We also bought some items from the bakery and while they were very fresh and tasty, they were a bit too sweet for us.
The wait staff wasn’t rude, but they don’t check in to see if a drink is empty. When you order your “specialty” crafted latte, it’s nothing special. It honestly is just a watered down latte. Not worth your $7. After a long wait, when our food did come out the plates were hot, yet our food was cold. Not a good sign. I’d like fresh food, not food sitting on a hot plate under a warmer…
I ordered a simple biscuit and gravy, which was not only cold but very dry. Where was the sausage gravy? They really skipped on this one and not only didn’t put any sausage gravy on the top biscuit part, but barely any on the bottom. The eggs were again, not only cold, but over cooked too.
My husband ordered the Farmhouse Hash Bowl. Sadly, this too was cold and when you have cold brisket, it’s a huge turn off.
I’m sad that this one didn’t work out as I’m a local and really wanted it to! Especially since when you walk in and see the bakery section looking so great! Overall, I sadly wouldn’t return.
It’s just not worth the wait or the money.
