Stopped by to pick up an order yesterday for late lunch after wife had an outpatient surgery. Looks to be under new ownership. The banana almond smoothie with whey protein was watered down, tasted only of almond paste and protein powder. Did not get the sense there was any banana in it at all. The sunrise sunset smoothie was very watered down. Jamaican jerk wrap was close to as I remember, but with little chicken. The pesto flatbread seemed typical, according to my W. Will give it another try, when the mood strikes, but I only forgive once. Skimping on fixings to save a few pennies is a sure way to loose me as a customer.

I came today to have a refreshing meal with my boys. However, I did notice they were busy which i understand. However, my order was wrong due to the hectic day and I was very understanding. I spoke with the short girl that rung me up and she was super sweet about it. However, at the time my order came out. A tall skinny girl brought my order and she gave me the wrong order. However, someone from the back came out and said we fixed it. The tall girl proceeded to snatch my bag and takes it to the back and instead of making a fresh one she just threw on the stuff that was originally supposed to be in my order! I do not appreciate anyone snatching my bag when she made the order wrong! Then had an attitude because I wanted it warmed up! I will definitely be calling corporate because I am a frequent customer and even order through DoorDash. However ,after she was very rude, I will not be coming back to this location and spending my money here! The food was a mess!

The service is fast and the food is okay. The place itself however looks like a dump. I walk in as the only customer and none of the tables are wiped off and the floor looks like it hasn’t been swept all day. The windows and window seals are filthy. The paint on the metal chairs is peeling and the chairs themselves look rusty. There are a bunch of wall outlets on the side of the shop, but no tables or chairs even remotely close to them? Am I supposed to just leave my phone on the floor to charge?

Quick and reliable, Tropical Smoothie’s are all the same. Pleasant staff at this location. Clean bathroom. Always a good sign that the garbage area is clean. Could wipe the tables down a bit more frequently though, the first two we sat at were sticky. Best smoothie I’ve had in awhile.

Prior to COVID, I could get a wrap and Smoothie for under $10. The buffalo chicken wrap used to be 3 ounces of chicken for $6.49. Now the buffalo wrap is nearly $10 and they cut the chicken back to 1 ounce. The wrap was about the size of a hot dog bun but not as fat as a hot dog bun.
I ordered a buffalo chicken wrap and a blueberry bliss smoothie. The total was just under $17. The wrap has so much sauce there was a pool of sauce in the paper that leaked out and got all over the outside of the wrap. There were 3 small squares of chicken in the first half when I took a bite. After the first bite, there was no more chicken just lettuce and 2 1/2 layer of tortilla wrap. There was only 7 small cubes of chicken in the middle enough for the first bite and then no more chicken on the ends. There were so little ingredients you could see when she cut it that the wrap went around the ingredients twice and halfway around on the third wrap.
The blueberry bliss was 95% ice and a few berries for flavoring. It was more like a slushy than a smoothie. I could not even taste any hint of blueberry. It reminded me of one of those Italian ices with flavoring poured on top. I also have never had a smoothie that thawed completely down to flavored water by the time I got home. I drove from Yorktown back to Hampton and the smoothie was thawed almost completely in the 14 minute drive with the AC on.
Service was ok but I was not greeted when I entered and no employee was smiling and looked happy. The place was empty with no customers and I can see why. I don’t expect this location to last more than another year if they continue to serve substandard quality at top quality pricing.

I’m a huge fan of Tropical Smoothie Cafe. The smoothies are always delicious, the food is nutritious and I don’t have to guess about the calories. I love that I can replace the sugar with Splenda in the smoothies and still have a scrumptious snack that feels like cheating on my diet, but isn’t. The staff is efficient and friendly and the store is kept clean. Going to Tropical Smoothie Cafe is like a mini vacation any day of the week!

We ordered 3 different smoothies from this location all of them were watered down and tasted the same. We also order a wrap. The ingredients were not fresh and the sauce that is normally inside wasn’t even the correct sauce. When I called to complain the owner couldn’t help us unless we brought all of our food and smoothies back. We were already home with our 2 young children across town. This isnt the first time I’ve had an issue with this location. It’s very frustrating to spend almost $40 on something nasty.
