Been coming to this iconic restaurant for 20+ years, it’s been my family’s go-to spot to eat in Chinatown. My earliest memories of this place involve seeing the chef making hand-pulled noodles in front of the window, who would smile and greet people as they walked by. He was somewhat of a local celebrity.

Waiters are friendly and accommodating, portions are large, and service was fast.

Ordered the beef chow foon and combination lo mein. Both were delicious and came in large quantity, the beef chow foon was a little more flavorful.

The restaurant was renovated recently so it feels more contemporary. It occupies multiple floors + rooms of the building it’s in. On the walls are framed Washingtonian newspapers showing the many accolades this place has recieved over the years. A humble “hole in the wall” with a history of serving food that’s good, cheap, and fast. (Although the prices have understandably increased since the 2010s).

Looking forward to coming back the next time I’m in DC.

I was very pleasantly surprised by the fantastic quality of the food here. We had the green beans, bok choy, noodles, pork, and duck and each one was phenomenal. If you can get the duck, ABSOLUTELY do because they have perfected the crispiness of the skin. I went for Lunar New Year expecting it to be packed but they had a few tables open. Service was phenomenal and I will definitely be coming here again soon

I went there with my friend. It is really authentic Chinese place and Chinese tradition. The food was good, just normal, but the portion is really big. We ordered duck over steamed rice, spring roll, egg roll and pork buns. We really liked the pork buns those were awesome. So juicy and flavorful. Also, the ambiance is really good, but the service might be improved. However, overall experience was good.

I had to make a visit to DC District Court and decided to drop in for lunch. I had the roast duck with rice, it also comes with 3 pieces of broccoli and steamed rice. I also ordered hot tea. The meal was $14.95 and was a good portion size with tip and tax it was $20. The tea hit the spot on à cold December day. It was a bit of a wait for the meal but everything arrived hot. The duck though à small portion size was moist and savory, the rice was hot and fluffy, the broccoli was flavorless, but you gotta have some veggies right. I appreciate that they do not incorporate the tip in the bill but gives you the option to spend your own money as you see fit. One of my favorite places for roast duck.

I saw the little duckies in the window and was intrigued when coworker said it was amazing. Had some potstickers, and steamed pork dumplings. They have a hand pulled noodle with duck I wanted to get, but first I ordered a medium of the barbecue combo. It was so much meat that I ended up not able to order the last item so I’ll have to go back! Overall the barbecue was really good and well seasoned. The dumplings were good. The pricing was very reasonable especially in dc.

I ordered hot and sour soup, egg rolls, general tso chicken with white rice. The food portions were very generous. The soup was okay, I did enjoy the fried wonton strips that I added to my soup. The egg roll was good as was the general tso chicken. I had a canned soda. I’m not a fan of canned soda at a restaurant, but oh well. The wait staff was quick and attentive. The environment was cozy and casual. I would recommend this for a quick sit down place when you have an appetite. I am not from DC, I was visiting and spent all morning walking around town, this spot was a good meal that allowed me to refuel before I continued my site seeing

Extremelly good!!! The pekin duck was nothing but amazing!! Noodles and chicken were very good too. Very authentic. Great quality and decent price. We paid $82 tip included for the 3 dishes you see in the pictures. Can’t understand why they have a bad rating..!

I came with two friends not too long ago, so this is an assessment from all three of us. We got 3 dishes – General Tso’s Chicken, Roast duck, and I believe the House BBQ Mixed Tray. It was a long time (10+ years) since I last went here, and I am glad to see the food is still good as well.

1 – Tso’s Chicken:- Good flavor, wasn’t excessively spicy or lacking spice
2 – Roast Duck: Also good quality meat and flavor, was a little soggy, though.
3 – House BBQ Platter: Was a great first experience for two of my friends. Pork was crispy, the seared pork was amazing, and the duck was good as well, but skin went a little soggy

We ordered three roastings—duck, soy chicken, and honey-glazed ribs—since we were rushing to catch Twice at Capital One Arena, just a three-minute walk away. Everything was good and so good with rice, though the execution fell short in places. The roast duck had unplucked feathers, particularly on the wings, and the honey-glazed ribs were overly dry with some ends charred black.

We ate twice here in our two day stay in Washington. Food was great and the prices fair. A lot of magazines praise this little shop and for good measure
