I was highly disappointed with Copacabana when we came on 2/17. We showed up for a family dinner at 5:30pm on a Tuesday when the restaurant was almost empty. For such a slow night, I’m sad to admit the service was a total disaster. They brought our food out but forgot my 3-year-old’s plate who was already very hungry. The waitress forgot about us and we had to keep getting up to ask her to please find out where this plate is. We did not receive an apology from any staff, just that “it’s coming”. I asked if it was forgotten as 10 minutes rolled by with the entire table having gotten their plates besides the toddler… and I was lied to and told “it wasn’t forgotten”. I expected a truthful answer and, at bare minimum, a “sorry” would’ve gone a long way! But it was easier to lie and walk away, then bring her plate out 15 minutes later. This is unacceptable and the reality is, if her plate wasn’t forgotten, it would’ve arrived along with everyone else’s. We killed two and a half hours here and were not offered any sort of apology or reduced price for this experience. At the end, after waiting fifteen minutes for the waitress to return (she didn’t), the head of the party had to go locate her to pay. It felt like they washed their hands of us before we even finished eating or just had moved on from our table completely.
This experience was unacceptable.
I hope staff receives training. I will be taking my business and family elsewhere.

The food is very mehhhh. I have the bistec de palomilla and the arroz moro was not well cooked, the tostones were dark and very soggy. The other plate was a pan con ropa vieja and the ropa vieja was not well seasoned, not flavor, fríes looked like it was cooked in old oíl very dark and not pleasant flavor. Price is not equal quality of food. Not be back.

Nice looking, food was one disappointment after another. 3 different rices, all 3 were bad. Mushy, dry, and bland. Mashed potatoes were cold, etc….

We had the misfortune of dining at this establishment for the first time, and unfortunately, our experience fell short of expectations. The service was subpar, with our server taking an inordinate amount of time to attend to our table after being seated, despite the restaurant not being busy. Throughout the meal, she would frequently disappear, leaving us unattended for extended periods. The cuisine was also a letdown. The Paella Valencia, and Sauteed Shrimp & Scallops that we ordered were disappointing. The paella lacked flavor, while the calamari was overcooked and rubbery, rendering it inedible. However, what truly upset us was the use of imitation scallops in both entrees, particularly given the price point of the paella. The sauteed shrimp & scallops came with a small side salad that arrived undressed, with the server not offering any dressing options. We had to request it, and it took another 10 minutes to arrive. The flan was unpalatable, with an excessive amount of caramel sauce and a grayish, mushy texture that suggested it had been prepared days in advance. We sent it back, and it was removed from the bill. The sample platter appetizer was the sole redeeming aspect of the meal. Given the subpar experience, we would not recommend dining here and suggest exploring alternative options in Mount Dora.

Everything about the restaurant is more than I expected. The good is the best Cuban food I’ve experienced. The atmosphere with live singing was concert quality. Our server was friendly and helpful!

Worst bathroom I’ve ever been in. Toilet seat was completely broken water and over filled trashes. Our server forgot our straws and had a aweful attitude. Never came to check on us or give us a refill (there was just 2 of us)

We stopped in for a late lunch and we were immediately seated. We ordered a few beers and they were really cold. For our lunch I had the masitas de puerco, also and order of rabo, chillo, and paella the food came out and was very good. Great flavor and a sizable portion for all our meals. The service was excellent and we really enjoyed our lunch.

We were a party of 4. We sit at the bar outside and then they prepare a table outside for us. At the bar we had our drinks and ordered carne frita. When at the table we didn’t receive any service. No waiter stop there to ask how is everything was ok or to ask if we want something else. We were ready to eat. An hour passed. Nothing. We decided to leave. They were 4 waiters chatting at the entrance and also the Owner. We complained with him, he said “oh that was a misunderstanding” I don’t understand. No apologies or nothing. He was dancing and a young waiter laughing. My reviews are always honest. But this situation is unacceptable. He should be worry about his last bad reviews. I won’t recommend this place. They don’t care. Bad service but what to expect if the owner doesn’t care. They follow his example.

Our first time visit. The weather was great for sitting on the patio. We arrived just before 12 and were seated immediately. The outdoor patio area has a seasoned look to it with several flat panel TVs that weren’t on.
I didn’t notice any taps at the outdoor bar, so I settled for a bottled Corona. My wife ordered the Cubano sandwich with fries, and I had the steak palomilla with rice.
Service and food were very good.
If you’re not a regular to Mt Dora, parking availability is terrible. Of course, this has nothing to do with the restaurant, it’s the city’s problem.
