I ordered the Beef Barley soup and the “Mill” Burger, while my wife took advantage of their Thursday Steak Night special, which is $29 per person. My soup was full of rich flavor in every bite. The burger was juicy and cooked perfectly, with crispy, well-cooked bacon that added a delicious crunch.
My wife thoroughly enjoyed her steak, which was cooked just right and served with mashed potatoes and carrots. She said everything on her plate was delicious.
Our server was attentive, polite, and very knowledgeable about the menu and its offerings—definitely an A++ for her service.
The dining area at The Mill has a warm, rustic feel with its wood and brick walls, creating a relaxing and inviting atmosphere. We both agreed that The Mill in Hershey is now one of our top restaurants, and we’ll definitely be returning soon.
We sat a the bar and we were immediately greeted by the bartender and he provided menus. We ordered drinks and then shared the calamari and crab cake entree.
The calamari came out quickly and it was good. They had some banana pepper rings in there too and I like that. The crab cake meal came out as we were finishing up the calamari. There was a big topping of micro greens on both the appetizer and the entree. The crab cake was a little on the dry side but it was still good.
The bartender was personable and attentive. I think his name was Devin. The atmosphere in the bar was casual and easygoing.
Prices were comparable to other restaurants in the area.
Parking was easy – there is a big lot next to the building. We walked up an outdoor wooden staircase to get to the main entrance but I did see a door on the same level as parking so that maybe an accessible door but maybe call ahead and ask if you can’t do stairs.
We had a nice time and I would come here again.
I’ll definitely be coming back the next time I’m in town!
Tonight’s dinner was a beautiful blend of highs and lows, but the star of the show was undeniably the confit duck. Served with poached carrots infused with garlic, tender potatoes, and crisp green beans, the dish arrived looking rustic yet refined. The duck itself was exceptional — a perfectly crispy, golden shell giving way to meat that quite literally fell apart at the touch of a fork. Rich, savory, and deeply flavorful, it was the kind of dish that makes you pause mid-bite just to appreciate it. Absolutely divine.
The Brisket was very tender and flavorful as well. If you order request the bbq sauce on the side, so you can enjoy the brisket. Above average brisket from a restaurant.
Unfortunately, the Apple Crisp Old Fashioned was a sharp detour from excellence. Despite the promising seasonal twist, it missed the mark entirely. The flavors felt muddled, unbalanced, and far from what an Old Fashioned should be. Honestly, it shouldn’t even be allowed to carry the name.
But redemption arrived in the form of dessert: a phenomenal crème brûlée. Crackling through the perfectly torched sugar top revealed a silky, luscious custard that was the ideal balance of sweet and creamy. Every spoonful felt luxurious — the perfect note to end the evening on.
SERVICE:
Unfortunately the bartender seemed more in a rush and stressed than worrying about giving great service to his customers. During the time there he ran into another server breaking a glass of water. Ordered an old fashion and whipped it up very quickly ending in a below average drink. Also overheard him telling another server he doesn’t want to be up there and would rather be below. Guessing there is another area in the establishment for a bartender.
ATMOSPHERE:
Sat in the bar area and it wasn’t bad. Good vibes from people coming up for drinks. Wish they could do something about the very large wood posts along the bar area. Need to sit strategically.
OVERALL: A memorable meal with an unforgettable duck confit and a crème brûlée worth returning for. Just skip the “Old Fashioned.” Also, maybe sit somewhere other than the bar.
Only complaint I felt the salads were a little lacking for $18. There was very little lettuce and toppings. Had the fish and chips (French fries) which was a good portion, fries were crispy.
