The floor under our table was sticky. The wife’s strawberry margarita had that medicine taste you get from fruit syrup sometimes. Also the old fashioned I had was the oddest one I’ve ever had anywhere. It had the garnish you’d expect, but it wasn’t even a mixed drink, it was just a shot of bourbon and a big ice cube. Food was okay, wouldn’t exactly say anyone should visit this place just for the bbq. Service was good though, friendly staff.

We stopped here on our way to Disneyland and it was great! The barbecue was on point! I had the bbq beef sandwich – the bread was soft and the beef was so tender. We also had ribs and chicken. All excellent. The sides were ok, but it’s not Chris & Pitts Sides – you’re here for the bbq. I would definitely come back again!

Like many other reviewers I have been coming here for years. If you want nostalgia, this is then place to go, but quality service and food is an afterthought.
Service was slow and not that great. Waiter never checked on my party of 6, and didn’t even bother to refill our drinks.
Food was 2/10. It used to be great, but not so much anymore.
Prices here are a joke. Inflation? No,it’s just overpriced.
I don’t think you’ll see this place around much longer as the patrons they rely on to stay in business are slowly fading away (dying due to old age). The younger crowd (Me) won’t make this institution like my parents did unless service gets better, prices go down and the place gets dusted and cleaned.
Also, I felt like an elementary school kid when I asked for ketchup and they brought out 4 individual single serving containers for my party of 6. What the heck is that? Can you not afford actual bottles? No BBQ sauce on the table even. It’s a BBQ restaurant!!

We love this place, we have been coming here for years. Nathan tonight unfortunately was having a bad day, instead of getting a grip he allowed it to spill over to his work, we did our best to make the best out of it, but even to get billed I had to flag Jose down to get their attention. Jose from what I saw was killing it, very attentive, very professional even to the lady that was being very rude to him, next time I come back I am defintely going to request Jose’s section.

Today, I was in Downey for work and had a craving for some good BBQ, so I remembered Chris and Pitts—an OG spot that’s been around for 75 years! I hadn’t been here in over 15 years, so I decided to go with my coworker.
Let me just say, WOW—the food was just as amazing as I remember. The customer service was top-notch, and the ambiance felt like you were in a cozy cabin, really setting the vibe for a great meal.
I went with the ribs combo platter, which included beef, spare, and baby back ribs, and it was seriously delicious. My friend got the steak, and the Au Jus sauce was incredible. On the side, the mac & cheese and baked beans were perfect complements to the meal.
I’m not usually a blue cheese fan, but when I tried my friend’s salad with the blue cheese dressing, I was honestly surprised. It was actually really good—I might be a blue cheese convert now!
If you’re in the area or just craving some solid BBQ, this place is a must-go. I’ll definitely be back sooner than 15 years this time!

Atmosphere was kind of drab. But we did get there early. Our waitress seemed to be impatient or maybe even bothered. Not as friendly as I would expect that early in her shift. The food was not the best. My sandwich didnt seem to taste like I last remembered it. Not sure if they changed the recipe. But salad was great and onion rings were just as I remembered. Great. Not sure I would go back or go out of my way again since I live so far. Wasn’t what I expected.
