Ribs & brisket top the BBQ menu at this small chain branch with old-timey Texas decor & a big patio.

What a breath of fresh air. I don’t often give 5 star reviews but this one was well earned. I was visiting family in town and up until this point some of our choices for food weren’t the best of what we expected so far. From the moment we walked in the door it was fantastic. From the host to the server to the manager even the decor, we were impressed by all. The menu was pretty vast but still reasonably priced. We all ended up getting a combination of meats and sides. When it arrived at the table we were amazed at the sheer amount of food in front of us. During dinner we had great conversations with the manager and our server was a sweetheart. As for the food….. It was amazing. Everything we ate was exceptional. Ribs, sausage, brisket, chicken, etc…. potato salad, fresh bread and great bar drinks. For a simple trip to diner, they made it a memorable part of our trip. Definitely will be back when we’re in town.

I had a fantastic experience at The State Line! The meats were absolutely delicious, tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly.
The margaritas were excellent as well, refreshing and well-balanced.
We were seated right away with no waiting time, which was a pleasant surprise. Portions were generous, and the prices felt very reasonable for the quality and amount of food.
Overall, a great place for BBQ and drinks—I’ll definitely be coming back

Had a huge baked potato with brisket. Was delicious. Nachos were fire, literally. If you like spice you’ll love them. We were a party of 13 and they accommodated us quickly. Everyone enjoyed their meal. I snapped a pic of my Cosmopolitan. The bartender suggested it after it was explained I like sweet drinks.

$42.95 for the ribeye and that was the only thing that was sub par. Went with 5 people so we shared a little bit of everything. Baked beans, coleslaw, potato salad, sausage, ribs, baked potato all delicious and the bread was fantastic sadly the Ribeye was bland, I’ve had $12 ribeye that was better and for that matter I’ve had $8 steaks that had more flavor.

Cool BBQ joint straddling Texas and New Mexico state lines. Great service. I got the all you can eat and it tasted good. There is a lot of food. If you don’t order additional food with the all you can eat, then you can take leftovers with you

Terrible lunch dining experience! Im guessing the GM was sitting in the front room on the right on his computer. It’s about 12:30 and restaurant wasn’t terribly busy. However, our waitress was in the weeds and needed help. The menu makes no sense. The 2 meat combo and meat options are sausage, turkey, & chicken. Lean brisket & moist brisket upcharge. No problem with the upcharge! Why not just make it 18.99 instead of 16.99 & include the briskets as options. That $2 increase is more than the upcharges! Next our food is served and sloppy is being nice. My beans were overflowed over the bowl & dried bean juice on the sides of the bowl with a spoon already placed in it. Quick side bar is my wife & I both worked in restaurants where we served beans. When bean broth dries to the side of the cup. GThat’s a translation those beans have been sitting! Plus, a spoon placed in them. Those beans could have been pulled rom the dish pit area! I didn’t touch the beans. I’ve had better bbq at Rudy’s. The restaurant is dark and so was the ambiance in the restaurant. I gave our waitress/ Ayla 5 stars because she was working hard! She didn’t serve our food because I’m sure she wouldn’t have served those beans! GM get off of your backside and visit the few guest you have in the restaurant

First and last time im going. Not a place I would go back and eat their again. Ordered the 2 meat combo with moist brisket and ribs. That brisket was probably the worst brisket I’ve ever had no taste dry I thought moist brisket was suppose to be flavorful and have a better taste than the lean. The ribs those had more bone than meat, dry and a little chard for my preference. The sides were horrible sloppy on the plate. I don’t want to taste my beans with my cole slaw or potato salad. If I want it mixed I would ask for it. How is one suppose to taste each side with out having to taste the other sides. The waiter was decent tentative enogh but not satisfied with the service. Asked if we were done with plates, didn’t ask if we needed to go boxes for our leftovers apperantly to distracted to pay attention that we needed to go boxes. I guess she wanted us out right away can’t enjoy food like that at all.

We are so beyond thankful to the wonderful team at The State Line. Due to the weather about a month ago we had to find a new venue for our wedding ceremony. Last minute at 6:30 pm the lights of The State Line Restaurant led us straight to them. We were warmly greeting and helped by Manager Rene. We spoke of options and he helped us with the best one. We had dinner there that night because changing and entire wedding ceremony 1 night before the event was alot of work. Dinner was delicious per usual. On the day of the event I was able to drop off my cake and it was taken care of so carefully. The room we reserved was lovely and the staff was prompt and kind. Event coordinator Bobbi was very helpful along with running manager that evening. It was all so beautiful. And my guests loved their time and food.
Thank you so much for making everything better for us. We truly appreciate you guys going far beyond what I couldn’t thought of.
Our best wishes always,
The Rocha Family

Fantastic dining experience my first time here! The food was crazy good, my steak was prepared perfectly, the beans, coleslaw and loaded baked potato were just as amazing. I had a wonderful server who was very attentive and I left happier than when I had arrived. I’ll need to come back!

We didn’t wait for a table long at all. The beef ribs are amazing. I recommend getting the full rack, since the price for a half rank doesn’t differ much. Service is excellent. Try getting a mouse head beer there. Not many places have that beer. In fact I don’t know anyone else who carries it.
