Always a great meal here. Tried the Hong Kong shrimp for the first time & it was delicious. Rattlesnake Pasta & queso are staples we always get. My husband loves the French dip. Drinks are strong & their ranch is soo good. For 2 apps, 2 entrees, 2 side salads, 3 drinks, 1 dessert it was around $155 before tip.

It was not melt I. Your mouth good! But it was a fair meal for the price. My husband loved the seared Salmon and the Acorn squash was excellent. The Carrot Cake was disappointing came out flat like a 1 layer cake not the many layers it shows on the Menu online. We also had the deviled eggs appetizers it was wonderful.

Overall, best food and wait service in Toledo. I cant think of one bad experience. For many years, we had our weekly business lunches here. They’re just consistently excellent. ❤️

Our first time. We were pleasantly surprised. My husband’s new favorite. His ribeye was cooked perfectly. My steak Brazzo was awesome and so tender. Mariah W. Provided wonderful service and gave us our birthday carrot cake to go which was second only to my mama’s we will be coming back and we will recommend to anyone who asks.

My partner and I love J Alexanders ever since we went to the Cincinnati location 6 months ago. When we seen Toledo had one, we had to go. In it’s own, this location is great. Fairly quick walk in wait time. The food was good and the service was good too. It’s hard not to compare it to Cincinnati since we had such an incredible experience there. We both agree that our local Cincinnati location was better in terms of food. The ribs here in Toledo were not as tender, the salad had different croutons (we fell in love with the croutons that cincinnati j alexanders had, these were disappointing in comparison), and the cake slice was smaller. The table candles at this location were fake candles which I was surprised to see. Maybe a fire hazard for real ones, but the real candlelit dinner in Cincinnati just gave the experience a more romantic ambiance to it. I tried the mac n cheese this time. It’s cool that it comes in it’s own dish but I didn’t care for the taste. My partner ended up eating it for me. He said his chicken sandwich was good. As a stand alone, this location was excellent. Now we want to travel to all the J Alexanders locations and compare them all. It will be hard to top the perfect food and service we received in Cincinnati. You have to try that chocolate cake! You could get away with around $50-60 for a dinner for 2, but our bill was $100 with tip since we got 2 salads as well as a dessert. Well worth the prices here. I appreciate the quietness of the dining experience and the lack of children present. Mainly adults dine here and that just adds to how much I enjoy eating at J Alexanders. You can bring your child as long as it is quiet, well mannered, and well behaved. Please don’t ruin the fine dining experience for others.

Had a great lunch and Nicole, our server, was spectacular. Only disappointment was when I brought the birthday carrot cake home, I found a piece of cellophane inside the cake. See picture. Hope I didn’t swallow any.

Went here for Valentine’s Day with my honey! We enjoyed it. I got the filet medallions in mushroom sauce with the smashed potatoes and he got the NY Strip steak with a loaded baked potato. We also got a Caesar salad. We both liked how the salad was prepared. His steak was cooked differently on both ends. One end was medium well and the other was medium rare. He ordered his medium rare. He ate it but wished it would’ve been how he ordered it. I ordered my medallions medium well and I got medium rare. When I saw blood on my plate, I knew it was cooked incorrectly. Our waitress must not have heard our order correctly? Anyways she did take mine back to have it heated some more. After that it was the way I originally wanted it. I don’t like to send food back but when you’re paying $47 for a steak and potato you want it done right the first time. Medium well does not leave a trail of blood on your plate.
We surely enjoyed each other’s company. That was the best part of our dinner together. It had been a while since we’ve eaten here and I’m happy they had an opening on Valentine’s Day. Not sure when we’ll stop back though. It was $126 for two dinners, 2 salads and 2 drinks, not including tip. I had to leave this review seeing I’m a local guide/ top contribute for Google reviews. Maybe next time it’ll be correct the first try.

We just left. We had the best service and food. My son said that was the best food he’s ever had. We had NY strip medium rare-PERFECTION! Also, the halibut feature was excellent. In addition the cocktails were awesome. I had a Cosmo and espresso martini. Oh, and don’t forget the rattlesnake pasta and orzo!

Well, I must say, as many times I have passed this place, I should have stopped a long time ago. I ate here for the first time today for a meeting, and I had a veggie burger with fries. The fries were perfectly cooked and salted especially for shoes string fries as I call them and the veggie burger had this perfect crisp/char that reminded me of the burgers I would get off the grill in the summer time as a little kid. Thank you to the cook there that knows what it means to have a perfectly perfect veggie burger with all the fixings. Well done!

This used to be our favorite family restaurant since they opened to celebrate all occasions from birthdays, graduations to anniversaries. Unfortunately, we went last Sunday to celebrate my son’s birthday with our family and needed a table for five. We showed up early at 4:50 to an empty restaurant and we were told we could not be seated for an hour and a half?? The hostess gave no reason why we would need to wait 1 1/2 hours with a smirk so we left and probably wont return. In the lobby we called another smaller but top restaurant in the hobby lobby plaza who welcomed us with no hesitation.
