Stylish spot serving refined, contemporary Italian fare such as fresh pastas, plus global wines.

Worth every bit of the reservation struggle. I went during Restaurant Week and loved being able to sample a little bit of everything. The shrimp and potatoes were hands down my favorite; so flavorful and perfectly done.
The meatball was unbelievably tender, and the house made gnocchetti was outstanding. You can even watch them making the pasta, which makes the whole experience feel extra special. The tiramisu was simply amazing. Add in attentive, friendly service and it was a great experience all around. I’d absolutely come back.

Finally made it to Monteverde after trying to get a reservation for well over a year! Love their dinner options and how they have a completely separate gluten free menu – this should be more common at other Chicago restaurants.
Killer ambiance at night. Dark and classy without being too pretentious or moody. Almost everything we ate was fantastic although the Burrata E Ham was a little underwhelming. The Winter Citrus Salad was perhaps the best dish of the night! Loved the Cacio Whey Pepe with a meatball on the side! We shared the Butterscotch Budino for dessert and it didn’t disappoint.
Service was good but not great. Our server forgot to add a requested item with the Burrata and my drank sat empty for at least 30 minutes. Granted it was a busy Saturday night.
Excited to come back (when I can snag another res) to try more of their menu!

Amazing restaurant! Have heard about it for a long time then finally went for restaurant week lunch.
The appetizer sizes were delicious though very small, that’s probably the biggest complaint. Seemed like it was not meant for sharing since you only get one piece of arancino (can’t even say arancini as it wasn’t plural), and one small shooter. Since it was part of $30 menu, that’s reasonable but lamentable given they were delicious so you’ll want more.
However, the entrees we got were excellent and exceeded expectations. The beef cheek was tender and melts apart in your mouth, and the chili tomato oil from the shrimp scampi excellently elevated the dish. They made the potatoes so delish that it was almost better than the shrimp.
I was disappointed that cookies were the only RW dessert option so we added a tiramisu. Just standard delicious there
The waiter was polite the entire time and we did not feel rushed even though it was a busy saturday noon. Overall great experience

I came here for a lunch on a Friday during restaurant week. They did a great job accommodating my gluten-free diet. The flavors were divine. Everything tasted fresh. The Palermo mocktail had grapefruit and rosemary, but it was hard to taste the rosemary. The tomato sauce on the GF rigatoni had a great flavor; I appreciated that it didn’t taste sweet. I had a decaf coffee at the end. It was one of the best ones I have had in Chicago. The attention to detail at this restaurant was excellent. My one area of improvement is for the hostess station to be more friendly even if the place is full. I was by myself and felt unwelcome initially, because I didn’t have a reservation. Note, they want reservations for bar seating too. They were ultimately able to find me a spot, and the meal and service after that were great.

First time at Monteverde! We went on a Saturday night without a reservation- waited about 45 minutes for bar seating around 6pm. Service at the bar was really nice, the bartender seemed knowledgeable about the restaurant in general. We got the restaurant week set menu- 4 courses family style. The mozzarella shooter was fun, but I think a little bit more style than substance. Arancini was very good. My partner got the salad then the spaghetti pomodoro, both of which he was pleased with but not wowed. I got the smoked fish and crisps with the egg yolk raviolo- the pasta was excellent. We had servings of the tiramisu and panna cotta for dessert. He rated the tiramisu 10/10! Overall- super cool place (we loved watching the pasta be handmade at the bar) and food was great. Would recommend going!

Absolutely gorgeous vibe and very friendly service. Great appetizer and pasta. We had a great time here! The only thing is that we wish the tiramisu is more traditional style (meaning more coffee/cocoa flavor and less sweet). Pasta mista is great, but the tomato sauces it a bit bitter tasting. But overall we liked it!

Wow! What an amazing experience! I came here for a work dinner and they were absolutely wonderful. I am vegan, and the prepared an entire separate menu for me which is SO thoughtful! Everything tasted exquisite, ESPECIALLY the roasted brussels sprouts (which I forgot to take a picture of!) Brett was our server and he was fantastic. All of the waitstaff was so attentive and kind, making the evening that much more enjoyable. I highly recommend Monteverde to anyone looking for a delicious meal and a great atmosphere!

Monteverde has my heart we came to celebrate our anniversary and were greeted with champagne. What a start
We were visiting from out of town and I camped this reservation the month before. Spots go fast so I would really be on it.
We started with the famous burrata e ham, which made such fun little sammies. I could bathe in that prosciutto butter. The peach and tomato salad was EXQUISITE, beautiful textures, but I think a summer seasonal. Shrimp scampi was spicier than I expected but I’m a spice wimp, great flavours.
The pastas were all pretty good, fave was the corn with truffle that was the Sept anniversary special. By dessert we were bursting, but we still got the tiramisu and do not regret it.
Our server (brunette gentleman with great wavy hair) was knowledgeable, passionate about the menu and lots of fun.
Wish we lived here so we could go back sooner. But had a meal to remember

Great service from our server and staff throughout. We went for restaurant week. So we had items off that menu along with burrata and ham with prosciutto butter. Burrata and ham with the butter is a MUST. But everything was very good. Shrimp scampi and Pomodoro is very good. Took forever to get reservation but rightfully so.

Great service and even better food. The vibe was gorgeous. We went here for a date night. We did not reserve ahead of time, but we waited at the bar for 40 min and secured ourselves a spot at 6 Pm. The food was crafted by their own chefs, so it will be unique and adds a touch of exception to most of the items on the menu. We loved their service though we were at the bar, not ignored. The food arrived very quick though the restaurant was a full house. Unique flavors, we were definitely impressed. Here are some pics of our food. We shall definitely come again and try some more items on the menu.
