I’ve been going to Filippis since I was a kid, started out at the location in Chula. I live in IB now so I frequent that one now. I normally go to Dominoes bc it’s fast and cheap. But when I’m really craving pizza, I order a large “the works” from Filippi’s. I went in today, busy Saturday. For some reason my tap to pay was not working on their machine. None of the cards in my digital wallet were working. The short girl at the register was annoyed, not helpful, walked away after giving me the “ugh, you’re poor” vibes and made me feel really uncomfortable but then the tall super hot ginger guy stepped in and offered some solutions. He figured it out and I left as a happy customer and got my pizza craving satisfied. I stopped at 711 down the street to pick up a drink on the way home and my tap to pay worked fine! I know the card situation wasn’t her fault but that’s the kind of attitude that makes me stop being a customer at places. Love Filippi’s and Hayden saved the day. That’s the kind of above and beyond customer service that deserves recognition. You did forget to give me my Jordan almonds though. You owe me Jordan almonds, Hayden!

Good place for a good meal with friends and family. Plenty of seating. Good variety of options on the menu.
The food portions are very large! The entrée is family style. Consider sharing food. The medium pizza was larger than 12″. 3 people could easily enjoy that size.
Heads up on the pizza. They put the pepperoni on the bottom and about 10 pounds of cheese on top. There was so much cheese the pizza looked unappetizing. The pizza was good, the dough was good, in the medium thickness side. Although it was covered in so much cheese the dough was cooked well and tasty.
The eggplant parm was good. Many layers of thinly slices eggplant, seasoned well. Sadly it was topped with a bit too much cheese that it took away from the flavor. The spaghetti was plentiful, sauce was not thin and had a very good flavor.

This is probably the best filippi’s in San Diego. It has the old red retro 70’s interior with the empty signed wine bottles hanging all around. Red checkered Vinyl table cloths. Very cute. The food has much better flavor and better quality than the others I’ve been to. Even better than the one in Little Italy. The service was nice we were given options on which table we preferred. We ordered the clam linguine and ravioli with meat sauce dinners. The waitress was very helpful and gave great suggestions, I wish I could remember her name! She was great! The garlic bread is Wonderful and the bread that comes out with the meal is so fresh! Portions were huge! The dinner salad was fresh crisp veggies! Overall we were content with our meal!

Cute & cozy Italian restaurant. My wife & I are making our 1st vist to Imperial Beach. So glad we found this restaurant ordered pizza . Was probably the best pizza we have ever had. Did not skimp on the toppings & cheese . Sauce was probably the best we have ever tasted. Service was good. Decor is very cute. 100’s of wine hanging from the ceiling. Will definitely be back. Highly recommend.

Friendly casual restaurant with some nice family sized portions. This location is close to the beach, its nice to walk down after if you have a chance. The parking lot isn’t big here, about 15 spots, and they have added outside seating with covering now. The pizzas are delicious, if you love cheese, you’re gonna be happy, they make them with So.Much.Cheese! The antipasto is another fave and we also like ordering the meatball on the side. The spaghetti and lasagna combo is delish as well, and you can have it with meat sauce or marinara. We’ve gotten their spumoni for dessert, and the kids love it, we all share it. They have music playing inside, and there are restrooms available as well.

The customer service we experienced was completely unacceptable. Unfortunately, this experience has ensured that we will be choosing another location or another Italian restaurant altogether in the future, which is disappointing considering how often we have patronized this establishment.

My husband drove approximately 20 minutes to pick up our family’s dinner order, which had been phoned in ahead of time. When he arrived, the hostess who handed him the bags confirmed that the entire order was in the bag. Upon arriving home, we discovered that our garlic bread and salad items that were supposed to come with one of our meals were missing.

When my husband called the restaurant to let them know he would be returning to pick up the missing items, he was told that he would need to bring the entire order back with him to “prove” that the items were missing. This was both unreasonable and insulting, especially given that the mistake was on the restaurant’s end and the drive is not a short one.

I then called myself and was taken aback by the dismissive and unprofessional attitude of the employee who answered. The second person I spoke with was not much better, informing me that no manager was available and that someone should call me the following day (tomorrow) at 5:00 p.m.

As a result, our food will now be cold, we are being significantly inconvenienced, and the restaurant has taken no accountability for its own error. The lack of professionalism, empathy, and basic customer service in this situation is truly appalling.

We loved this place. Great food and servers. Warning 2 people can split a single dinner. Or have leftovers for a couple days. Either way it is a win. Eggplant parm comes with an entire spaghetti dinner as a side.
