It was our first time at this restaurant. The online reviews were pretty good, so we came here to celebrate a friend’s birthday. We asked the server to recommend their signature steak, and they brought out a 24-ounce one — an enormous steak that the two of us couldn’t finish, especially since we had also ordered foie gras and mixed vegetables.
All the food was good, and the restaurant is located on a high floor with a partial view of the city’s nightscape, which made the environment quite nice. However, we wouldn’t order that huge and expensive steak again next time. Although it was good, it just wasn’t very delicious to us.
Overall, it’s a restaurant worth recommending for gatherings or dates with friends, and in general, it was a good experience.

They even brought out a special dry-ice birthday dessert at the end, which we thought was fantastic.

Such a beautiful experience at Ascend. The atmosphere is cozy and elegant, especially with the fireplace and city views, perfect for a date night.

The sushi was fresh and beautifully presented, the burger was juicy and flavorful, and the dessert was so creative and fun. Everything tasted amazing.

Our server was fast, attentive, and very easy to communicate with, which made the evening even better.

Definitely on the pricier side, but worth it for a special night out. We’ll be back

First time being in Washington and I had to treat myself. Seen a lot about this place over social media and heard different things. I showed up and the wait was long for a party of one but not unexpected for a Saturday night with no reservations. Once I was seated everything else was amazing. I believe the waitress I had said her name was Shelby! She was absolutely beautiful and incredibly informative about the menu. I bought a few drinks, steak and sushi and it was all wonderful. The price of $300 seams steep for one person but like I said I went to treat myself but I will say it was the first time I’ve ever felt like every cent was worth it. You’re definitely spending over $100 per person. It was a great view. Amazing food, phenomenal service, and the drinks were unique and delicious! And for the service. I’m not from the state my phone was gonna die and Shelby offered to charge it while I ate I don’t know if that’s regular here but it was definitely new for me. Ask for Shelby and she will without a doubt in my mind leave you with a great experience.

Ascend delivers an elevated experience, especially when it comes to atmosphere and service.

The views are absolutely phenomenal and easily one of the best parts of dining here. The curated drinks are well done, and I really enjoy their special events like Fourth of July and New Year’s Eve, which always feel thoughtfully planned and festive.

The brunch menu is solid, and I appreciate that it includes juices and tea, which makes it feel like a more complete experience. Food wise, the sushi stands out more than the steak, and the desserts are visually stunning.

That said, while everything looks beautiful, some of the entrées and desserts could use a bit more depth in flavor to truly match the presentation and price point.

Customer service is consistently phenomenal. The staff is polished, attentive, and professional, which goes a long way in making the experience enjoyable.

Overall, Ascend is a great choice for the views, service, drinks, and special occasions, with a few areas where the food could be elevated even further.

My partner and I came here to celebrate my birthday, and Ascend Prime truly delivered an unforgettable experience. This is definitely the spot to splurge for a special occasion—it felt worth every penny, and the amazing service truly makes you feel special.
We made sure to grab a reservation ahead of time, and if you’re a couple, you might get lucky with one of the tables right by the massive windows. The panoramic views of the city skyline and Lake Washington are absolutely breathtaking and instantly set the mood.
The Cloud Nine cocktail was the perfect start—amazing!
We decided to try the blend of steak and sushi. The sushi tacos were a fun, delicious surprise—a definite must-order (we didn’t care much for the complimentary bread basket, but those tacos made up for it!).
For my main dish, I had the Hamachi Truffle Roll. The flavor was fantastic and I’d order it again in a heartbeat, though I’ll admit I wished there was a little more shaved truffle on top. My husband went for the Cap of the Ribeye Steak, and he absolutely loved it—cooked perfectly, tender, and intensely flavorful. The side of foraged mushrooms was also a great complement.
To top off the night, the Halo dessert was presented beautifully, a perfect showstopper for a birthday celebration.

I don’t take reviews lightly. I can’t tell you the last time I sent a steak back. But this was not a great experience. Late on the reservation I can understand, but not only did everything take forever, my 100+ dollar steak was salty and burnt. My wife said hers tasted like a salted charcoal. I’m all for trying a steak houses variation on their meat, but man. It just wasn’t good. The O-Toro tataki was really good even though I sorta wonder if it was truly o-toro, and I disliked the erratic cuts, but it was good. Bone marrow? Decent. The drinks? Good. Waiter, when we saw him, twice in almost 3 hours, was great. Would I return? Maybe the lounge. But absolutely, hands down a no for dinner. If you want quality, if you want service, you know where else to go in Bellevue. We had a decent night, but not for the price. And the wagyu? No. Way. I’ve been to Japan many times, I have a few lbs of the real stuff in my freezer. That price is ridiculous. 2.5 stars, at most, that’s it. And i knew what others had said beforehand, yet I gave it a go. They were right. Trust what you see on here.

Overall it was a decent dinner and a positive experience. Appetizer is really great. Both beef tartare and four gras. Main dish is good but not impressive. The skirt steak is perfectly cooked but we did wait forever for the steak. Omakase is also high quality and taste good. The total price is on the higher side after fee and tips considering no drinks and high end dishes.

Ascend earns it’s reputation! Not an inexpensive restaurant, but an experience worthy of special occasions! This was our first time here.

Atmosphere: We had a west facing view and the sunset over the city was fantastic. I wished I brought sunglasses in, but only for a bit before the sun went down. The views of Lake Washington and the Bellevue Square were amazing to see from so high up. Also welcome to go out to the patio, so we got a picture out there too.

Service: Thomas was our head server and was friendly, knowledgeable, told us about things we didn’t even think to ask, and very attentive. He and his team were on top of it all night, food came out faster than we thought it might and our drinks (soda) were filled before they were even half gone. They made incredible recommendations too, explaining the menu and giving both their personal opinions and what is commonly ordered.

Food: I expected the food to be amazing. A price tag like that for dinner wouldn’t be sustainable if it wasn’t. We both had an American Wagyu cut that was fabulous! The potatoes were good, but didn’t wow us. We also ordered mushrooms, fantastic blend of different varieties. The bread service at the beginning was unique, pork belly appetizer was so good too. For desserts, we got two and the presentation is very meticulously planned – they tasted amazing too, but this place is combining taste with presence and make for a memorable experience!

If you are looking for a place that can turn a loud group of guys who haven’t seen each other since the late 2010s into refined diners, this is it. The atmosphere at Ascend is elevated in every sense of the word. We showed up with ten years of stories to tell and were met with impeccable service and a festive spread that kept us all very happy. The panoramic views are stunning, but the hospitality is what really made the afternoon memorable. It was the perfect backdrop for our reunion.

Ascend opened a few years ago and I finally had a chance to try it out through a catered business dinner.

Overall, as far as catered dinners go, it was very good. I mean, there is a hard limit to how good a catered menu can be, since you have to prepare a lot of food in advance to be served in a relatively short period of time, so food will sit around in a warming box or something.

However Ascend did a great job and I enjoyed it all.

That said, I suspect that their truly spectacular meals are off the main menu, so I’ll have to try those before really knowing how this place is.
