Absolutely loved this place. The staff/ the service were all very nice. Our server was very well versed with what was gluten free and made sure to point out what wasn’t as we were ordering. Would highly recommend this to anyone.

Great atmosphere and a lively vibe. However, the food was not very healthy. Most of the dishes we ordered were fried, salty, or much fattier than expected. The rice, however, was well-cooked and not oily, which we appreciated. Fresh salad that tastes wonderful. With improvements to the menu’s healthiness, this place could become a much better dining option.

Burma Love in the Mission District is the perfect sister spot to the longtime neighborhood favorite, Burma Superstar. It carries the same magic — those bold, comforting Burmese flavors — but in a fresh, modern setting.

We ordered the eggplant and daikon, fried rice, and mango chicken, and every dish was bursting with flavor and perfectly balanced. You can taste the care in the spices and textures — nothing feels heavy, just deeply satisfying. The drinks were also a highlight — strong, tasty, and thoughtfully mixed.

The space itself has a moody, intimate vibe with dim lighting and warm tones that make it feel both stylish and inviting. Whether you’re a longtime fan of Burma Superstar or new to Burmese cuisine, Burma Love is absolutely worth the visit. ️

This place still slaps 🙂 We got seated at a table near the door with no reservation after waiting at the bar for a little bit. The Tea Leaf salad and coconut rice were AMAZING. The Shrimp curry pretty good too! I’m impressed they have kept this standard of service and food over time.

This dish is much different than what I’ve had before (I also usually go to the Mint Plaza location): the broth was thinner and less flavorful, the noodles looked and tasted like spaghetti and I’m not quite sure what the fried garnish was, but it wasn’t the normal noodle cake. I included picture from todays and past.

Burma Love is cute inside. We had reservations and walked in with 0 wait. The menu was so cute, it started off with a map of Burma and a quick history. This was a sweet touch. Menu was fantastic, and food was delicious. Lots of people filled into the tables. Trendy place for delicious food and drinks.

Fresh Young Coconut water – adorable!!
Tip: they cut open the coconut after you are done and you can eat the coconut meat 🙂

Ginger Lemonade – delicious!
22 ingredient Rainbow Salad
Paratha & Dip – outstanding flavors

I went here for a birthday dinner and it was a great pick! It was a little fancier than I anticipated, but I think that made it nice. I recommend making a reservation or at least getting on the waitlist since there is a bit of a wait.

There are clean bathrooms, and the ambiance is really nice. The bar area is huge and well decorated, but we sat at the booth section.

i really enjoyed the service, our waiters were efficient and fun. They really made sure to keep things going. The food also came out super duper fast! We got the shan noodles, which they mixed up for us table side. I did also like their sparkling water.

I would come here again for another special day, but I might also try their other sister locations.

Excellent Burmese restaurant. Perfect for dates or group gatherings. Most of the food is excellent. The atmosphere is upscale without being overly formal. There is a dedicated bar and a separate dining area.

Pricing (Medium-High) – This restaurant leans a bit more expensive (+$25 per plate), but the quality of the food is generally high.

Wait Times (Modest) – This place gets quite busy, but lately the wait has been modest (5-15 minutes). I don’t think they do reservations, but you probably don’t need one anyways unless you have a large group.

Appetizers – I personally enjoy the famous tea leaf salad and the spicy chicken wings. The calamari is also perfectly fried. The other salads are also good choices, but the tea leaf salad is outstanding.

Entrees (Beef, Vegetarian) – I will generally recommend the burmese curries and the other beef dishes. All of the beef dishes here have been good. We clean these plates every time. The vegetarian dishes are also great. I really like their Garlic Eggplant dish.

Entrees (Do not get Chicken) – I would recommend against most of the chicken dishes (spicy and crunchy chicken, mango chicken, mint chicken etc). The chicken dishes are okay, but not impressive. I have tried these multiple times and they are usually disappointing. The spicy and crunchy chicken is probably the best one, but that dish is deep fried and very heavy.

Overall solid choice for dates, dinner parties or special occasions. High quality food at an acceptable price. Upscale location.

Did a walk in for dinner with a group of 4 and the wait was about 15 minutes or so, we grabbed a drink at the bar as we waited for our table. The host Daniella was so great with helping us out and helping us with a subtle surprise for the birthday boy in the group. Food was delicious. I would recommend the garlic noodles and the shaan noodles with your protein of choice. And the paratha was delicious chewy and fluffy dipped in the vegetarian curry wow. Ambiance was dark and cozy. Would definitely be back, Cheers!

We went to see what the hype was about. We had the famed tea leaf salad, catfish soup and mint chicken. While service and ambiance were great the food was so-so. It was also quite pricey but dish sizes were substantial so overall it was reasonable for the area. We did not find the food really flavorful like we usually do with the Thai cuisine that we typically opt for – perhaps the Burmese cuisine is just not for us. For spicy food lovers please ask for spices on the side as the food is not spicy at all
