I ordered the jalisco burrito with barbacoa with a lemonade. The food was very delicious and and filling. The portion size was plentiful and the lemonade was freshly made, not that minute made stuff. I would recommend if you are on a budget looking for good qaulity food.

I had another frustrating experience at La Tapatia last night, and honestly this has become a pattern. Every time I go here, they never get the order right.

I ordered through the drive-thru and was very specific about what we wanted. The lady on the speaker confirmed everything back to us, so there shouldn’t have been any confusion. On top of that, it was extremely loud inside the restaurant, and all the noise was coming straight through the drive-thru speaker. We could barely even hear each other, which made the whole process stressful and chaotic.

When we got our food, it was completely wrong, just like it usually is. I went inside to try to get it fixed, but it was even louder in there. Instead of helping, the employee just kept repeating that we “got what we paid for” and refused to answer my question about why we didn’t receive what we actually ordered. She was rude, dismissive, and didn’t seem to care at all.

Mistakes happen, but when it’s every single visit and the staff won’t even try to make it right, that’s a serious problem. Between the constant order issues, the overwhelming noise, and the poor customer service, I won’t be coming back again.

Decent traditional atmosphere and great service. The food is decently priced and pretty good.
At the time of visit it was excessively loud and housekeeping was lackluster.

Had a negative encounter at this place a few weeks ago. The night manager Diego displayed a very poor demeanor while I calmly questioned a service fee he charged me for after the food was paid CASH. He became very argumentative, refused to fix the issue and demanded I leave the drive thru.
The food wasn’t even good on top of that. I made an attempt to contact management via phone and via email but of course they did not respond back and could care less to address the issue, so please don’t let their responses in the reviews fool you.

The food was so good. I didnt pull in to eat. I had a wierd noise under my van. I pulled into the parking lot and i smelled the aroma of some carne asada cooking. So i guess it was fate. Boy am i glad God loves mexican food. And im glad God loves me to placed me on such a ” stairway to heaven.” Because the second i decided to go and try this restaurant, i immediately was being impressed by the wonderful smells coming from the kitchen. I noticed people not just sitting and eating but sitting and eating like theres no tomorrow. This gave me the thought that the food has got to be A-OK. The waitstaff were smiling and happily engaged in their jobs. Well i decided to sit and try the asada plate. It was perhaps touched by Angels.

I’ve came here a few times and I love their plates, they’re a good price and taste great. Their servers are great and their food is always hot. I recommend going inside their drive thru gets super busy so you’ll have a long wait time.

Son in law brought breakfast for us this morning I asked him to being me a small Menudo, my first time having it from there and definitely will be my last. I asked for extra hominy I actually came with 2 whole hominy and the meat was all dark and looked appealing once opened on top but once I poured into my bowl it was dirt ugly. I’d like to know why would you serve this to the community if you wouldn’t serve it to your own family. Your kitchen Menudo person definitely need to be replaced. Ijs as a customer going to your restaurant when there’s many more to choose from along the way you should better yourselves and be thankful that the community that’s the time to dine at your restaurant.
Sincerely,
Very Disappointed/dissatisfied

The food was good (not over seasoned)so was the atmosphere. Waitress was very understandable and patient because of my disabilities but didn’t like that the almost complete hour spent there, a man was drilling who knows was on the counter. The Waitress had to get close to me so that she could hear me.

Great atmosphere with fun decorations and good music. Friendly fast service. The food is all very good and the prices are as good as the food! You really can’t beat the value of the combination of great food at great prices here. Tacos, enchiladas, steak, chile rellenos, beans, rice, guisada, you name it, it’s authentic and delicious. The tortillas were hot, fresh and delicious. The salsa was perfectly spiced and had great flavor, served with crispy chips. I wish we had a place like this in Las Vegas!

I’m really sorry because, like other customers are saying, we were charge ILLEGALLY a service charge because we paid with a debit card like most customers do and will do. These looks like a strategy to make more money for the restaurant and we will never go back. This is what other customers are saying:

“A few days ago we went to La Tapatia on Flores St. We ordered $50 worth of food by drive thru. When I approached the window I was given the total and asked if I could pay $40 in cash and the rest by card (debit) and was told yes that it would be the same price. I ended up finding a $20 bill and paid the rest in cash. When I got my receipt I noticed I was charged a “SVC fee”. When I questioned the SVC fee “Diego” The night manager stated that he could not take the fee off and that it was my fault that I changed my mind to pay cash. He made sure by telling me multiples times it was my fault the whole time I disputed it. He had agreed to give us a food item in exchange for the fee and then ended up saying he refused service to me since I was being “difficult”. Keep in mind that I was not yelling or cursing at any point but because he knew he was in the wrong he “refused me service” and advised me to leave. To charge a service fee when I ended up paying cash shows how pathetic this “Diego” is, who has been employed with this place for years being called out for the same crap. Beware if you decide to come to this place. Better yet read their reviews as well. This place is a joke! If you’ve experienced this as well advise the social/news media!
Here’s a review from another customer….
Heads up, Texas folks: It’s ILLEGAL for any business to add a surcharge if you pay with a debit card. Texas Business & Commerce Code § 604A.002 says merchants can’t charge extra for debit (or stored value cards)—only credit cards are allowed surcharges these days. If they hit you with a fee on debit, they’re breaking state law!”
