West Tennessee’s legendary whole-hog BBQ tradition is the cornerstone of Martin’s Bar-B-Que Joint. Pat Martin learned the art and craft of West Tennessee-style smoke and meat 25 years ago in the tiny town of Henderson, TN before making Nashville his home. It became a consuming passion that eventually led to a business when he opened the first Martin’s Bar-B-Que Joint in October of 2006 in Nolensville, Tennessee – just south of Nashville.
We come in at 5 am, every day, seven days a week. From the sides to the sauces, everything is made from scratch every single day – You’ll never find a freezer or microwave in our kitchens. But the bar-b-que actually starts a day ahead, as the process for smoking whole hogs simply can’t be rushed.
Big roadhouse-style eatery known for its whole-hog pit-fired BBQ, with chicken, tacos & burgers.

Everything was absolutely delicious! The ribs were tender, flavorful, and perfectly sauced. The pulled pork was juicy, and the sides (baked beans, coleslaw, and mac & cheese) were just as good as the main dishes. Even the fried chicken sandwich was crispy and packed with flavor.
Great atmosphere and solid BBQ all around.

I’ve tried to like this place, but after giving it three chances, I’m done. Each time I ordered ribs and brisket. The ribs were either too chewy or too tough to eat. The brisket was decent the first time, but by my third visit, the brisket sandwich I got seemed like it had either been sitting out, was from the day before, or the bread was swapped from another sandwich. There was even an orange spot stuck on the top of the bread, which made me question what I was eating. The BBQ sauce had soaked into the bread like it had been sitting for hours, and I had to pour BBQ sauce just to try and eat it but I couldn’t
For nearly $40, this was really disappointing. I won’t be back—I’ll take the 30-minute drive to Mission BBQ instead.

I absolutely love Martin’s BBQ! The sliced brisket is incredible — tender, flavorful, and perfect every single time. I work next door and come in about once a week just for it because it’s that good. The staff is always so friendly and welcoming, which makes every visit even better. Consistently great food and consistently great people!

Came thru the drive last night around 7pm, mind you I’ve eating here multiples times but this time was terrible. Me and my moms broccoli salad was undressed just raw broccoli pieces no sauce, my cornbread hoecake was burnt. Portions were small and i paid 50 bucks for two meals that didn’t even come with a drink! To drive all the way home which is 40 mins away and barely have food to eat was disappointing.

Nice BBQ place. We came at about 6pmish. This place is highly recommended, but I like to be the judge for myself so I went in with no expectations. I came with my wife and family visiting from Canada. I had the pulled pork as they unfortunately were out of the ribs when I visited (very sad about that). I found the pulled pork very tender, but it could use some seasoning. I used the BBQ sauce provided. To be honest, I think this is the first time I have had vinegar based BBQ sauce. It added a nice tangy flavor to the pork, but is it supposed to be very runny? It is possible that I am just used to the thicker based BBQ sauce (which I think I may have preferred). Again though, the sauce was not bad, just new to me. The Baked Beans was the star of this dish though . The BEST BAKED BEANS I HAVE EVER HAD! Perfect blend of sweet and spicy. Whoever came up with that recipe deserves an award. All of my cousins agree on that as well. I also had the Mac and Cheese which was good. My cousin ordered the Beef brisket which he was highly pleased with. My wife had the 1/4 chicken with broccoli salad. I tried a piece and thought the chicken needed something as it seemed quite bland, but the sauce they give you with it adds some flavor. Next time I go back I hope to have the ribs, or I shall order the nachos my brother-in-law had as they looked really good too. My sister had the redneck taco. The slaw that comes with it is very delicious. I would go back.

BBQ and sides were solid. Had we not been there with locals, we wouldn’t have known that you can request additional sauces. For the price, I’d expect a bit more on the plate. So, I’d probably recommend one of the sampler trays if you’re feeling peckish.

Visiting for work and thought I would check this place out. Has a cool theme to it with garage doors that open out to the patio. Tons of bbq signs and license plates all over the wall. Walked in and went to the pickup area since we prepaid. Stood a few minutes while a few workers walked past us without acknowledging. Eventually someone got to us and got our order to us. I order the family meal with 1 lb of pork, and 1 lb of brisket, added on a slab of ribs. We had mac n cheese, green beans, and coleslaw for sides. The brisket was really good, the pulled pork was alright, I am a pulled pork snob so a bit picky. The spare ribs were okay, they were kinda dry imo. I ordered extra sauces with each of the meats, one of them was supposed to be spicy but we didn’t get any that were spicy so not sure what sauce was what, since there were no stickers dictating what is what. The one sauce was thin and vinegary which i assume was the one paired with the pulled pork. The sauces were pretty decent. The coleslaw was not really my style, i like really creamy slaw just for reference. This one was kinda sweet and really thin sauce. The mac and cheese was pretty good, it was baked with cheese on top. The green beans are the large italian style with pretty good size chunks of pork, which i really enjoyed. Overall it’s a pretty solid place, based on what i tried this place should be rated between a 4-4.5 so i think it’s pretty accurately rated. Thanks for the food guys!

Got wings and it had feathers on it still! Weird! The pork was cold and brisket had zero flavor! Side were just ok expensive place to eat and not be satisfied! Best thing they had was the sauce on the table! Ketchup tasted off as well! Forgot to get a poc of the wing with feathers it was a good laugh for sure! Won’t be back wasted my money!
