If you know us, you know we’re obsessed with Diners, Drive‑Ins and Dives spots — and nothing makes us happier than discovering one of Guy Fieri’s featured restaurants right in the neighborhood. That’s exactly how we ended up at Monte Carlo Steakhouse, and it was everything we hoped for. And yes it was sooooo good I forgot to take pictures of the food

Amazing!!!! The ribeye steaks were amazing – favorable and cooked to perfection – medium rare! The service was attentive without hovering. George, one of the owners came to greet us because this was our first time there. It will not be our

Monte Carlo does a good steak and potatoes. Good beer selection too. I would recommend it. Waitresses were very nice as well. Overall a fun experience! Good job, Monte!

I love this place, brings back super fond memories of my very first lounge experience over 30 years ago! I remember having to dodge the cars coming out of the liquor drive through to get in the side door to the lounge.
Now decades later and we live nowhere close, but still think its worth navigating the cities endless miles of unmaintained pavement and super random road closures not to mention the agony of driving alongside the ART project, (FML)
Anyway, the french fries alone are worth the trek. Pro tip the Prime Rib is usually gone by 6pm but the hamburger steak is just as good! IMO

Technically it’s called Monte Carlo Steak House and LIQUOR STORE, thus making this the best Prime Rib from a Liquor store in the world.

Yes it’s divey, but in a way that taste buds don’t care about. If you recall Hell or High Water, this feels like that cafe, but less sassy a wait staff. Decor is lots of old wood, leather booths, neon signs. It sort of feels like Old Vegas. Old, but not run down, classy in it’s age.

Drinks are dive bar classics Cape Cod on a menu, Sutter Home and Cavit. LIIT, lmeon drop, tequila sunrise, what are we 12 now. I actually like a bohemia, shiner, guiness (not on tap) with my dinner.

Their early week special is a 14oz boneless strip which is beefy and juicy, don’t over cook this as it will toughen up. Their late week prime rib is thick, tender and wall to wall pink. They do have horseradish if you ask. Their ribeyes are on the smaller side, but very good quality. They have their own butcher and not a chef who does the butchery. The baked potat is generous sized and well accompanied.

Prices are decent, quality is good and portions are excellent. Feels more midwest than southwest in vibe, but the Greek immigrant influence is interesting as I’m curious how Bakalava and dolmas and a shish kabob might taste. The Ham & cheese and grilled cheese just seem out of place, but not more than seeing Milk on the menu…..with sizes offered.

My ideal meal here is the late week speciall prime rib, with fried shimp and chopped green chilis. Fried mozzarella sticks and a shrimp cocktail to start. They let you order cold center which is how I like my porterhouse and ribeyes. The salads don’t come with tomatoes, but their burgers do, weird.

Lots of Locals, but not a locals only joint, plenty of travelers being pointed this way makes this feel a little like a classy TRH.

Not your usual Steak Restaurant but this place has been around for a reason. Great Service with Danielle and the food was amazing. I think there was a ghost sipping on my beer.

I wanted to try out this Steakhouse long before the days that it ended up on the Food Network shows. It is probably the epitome of a hole in the wall Steakhouse. Excellent steaks, no fuss sides and a very friendly dining staff. You also can’t bet the idea that the eclectic decor is authentic and not something fabricated for a chain restaurant. I tried the prime rib special but actually liked the wife’s ribeye steak better!

Steak was excellent. Service was ok, had to wait 45 mins for a table then wait 15 mins for initial visit from waitress. Once we ordered the food was quick and excellent.

The last night in Albuquerque ment it was time to visit #MonteCarloSteakHouse located in the back of a Liquor store. Yes, very cool and it ment good, cheap drinks. #margarita for me and #maiTai for my husband which he said delivered a nice rum punch. This restaurant came up in an Albuquerque food group as a local hang out. It was awesome. The interior felt like it was stuck in time when Elvis was still King. Dark wood paneling and dim lighting added to the ambiance, we needed a flashlight to read the menu. The entrees of pork were grilled and had great flavor and a wonderful sear. Pork Kebab for my husband, pork chops for me. Make sure to ask for medium for a less well done cooked meat. Panko battered #onionRings were yum and a great appetizer to start the meal off. Salads, rice, and baked potato complimented the meal, with Strawberry cheesecake to end the evening. So many other things I’d like to try in a return visit to Monte Carlo Steakhouse #GuyFieriDDDLocation
