Pasture is a new Steak House & late night bar brought to you by Chef Owner Sam Elliott. Pasture restaurant is a celebration of fire-based cooking and incredible local ingredients. The in-house butchers handpick and prepare the very best meat from farms in the south west and our chefs use it to cook beautiful, modern dishes. We visited pasture the other week and it was outstanding! We opted for the short rib croquettes, smoked beef carpaccio and the crispy squid for the starters. The crispy squid was definitely our favourite!
For mains we both ordered a Rumb steak reach and truffle fries each with Chimichurri and Garlic butter. Incredible!
The drinks and overall service was excellent also. Massive shoutout to Alex who looked after us! We will definitely be visiting again 10/10.

My girlfriend and I had been tried to visit Pasture several times last year but were never prepared enough so were always too late but this time we had the chance to book a couple of weeks in advance.
We ate here after going to the theatre, visiting a couple of bars and it rounded off our date day absolutely wonderfully.
Our server was called Monika and she was brilliant, very helpful with giving us enough time and helping us with the menu, over all a very friendly face.
The food here was absolutely spectacular, it was well worth the wait. The Thai Green Muscles were delicious and a very interesting idea, I had scoped these out on the menu before hand and couldn’t wait to try them. We had a sharing grill of fillet steak & monkfish which was beautifully cooked and very tasty. Our overall experience here was sensational and would highly recommend to anyone looking to have a classy but reasonably priced meal out!!!

Un-be-lievable!! Left on a true food high! The best steak I’ve ever had, it’ll be months before i have steak again, i suspect it will never be beaten. Beautifully cooked and salted. Chateaubriand represents excellent value as includes 2x sides and 2x sauces. Very busy, booking is vital for peak times.

2nd visit to Pasture and everything was perfect.
The service was incredible from everyone we interacted with. The lovely woman at the host station provided me with a seperate menu for my allergy (one that isn’t in the 14 major/common ones) and explained what I could have, either as it comes or modified and what I couldn’t eat. Our server Matteo was lovely. He had great recommendations for cocktails (a lovely dill and lemongrass margarita), a bottle of red and deserts. He was always on hand to get us anything we need and would always be by to refill our water without us needing to ask. He was great at sorting what needed to be ordered with my allergy requirements and making small modifications to the dishes when we asked.
Ordered a number of nibbles and starters, the real standout of which was the monkfish ceviche. Followed this with a 1.1kg Porterhouse. It was cooked to perfection and came with really excellent side dishes like the spinach gratin. Got some deserts and coffee afterwards which was all fantastic.
Cannot recommend this restaurant enough. Will 100% be back for my 3rd time soon.

Our server was Bella and she is a credit to your team. Her knowledge of the food and drinks available was exceptional and she took the time to explain the cuts of meat and how best to have them cooked. She was friendly and personable and seemed to enjoy her job.
Beef Bon Bon’s were incredible and the crispy chicken wings were some of the best I’ve ever tasted. We both had rib eye and it was perfectly cooked to our liking (medium rare). The Mac & cheese was hands down the best we’ve ever had and we’d come back just for that.

Birthday celebrations done beautifully at Pasture
We visited Pasture in Cardiff to celebrate three birthdays mine (Ruth), Looby’s and Mags’s and what a perfect place it turned out to be for a truly special lunch.
We were a happy table of six: Tom, Ash, Mags, Looby, Rob and myself, and from the moment we were seated, the experience felt thoughtful, relaxed and quietly impressive.
Our waiter, Aline, was an absolute star. Not only was he warm and engaging (we loved chatting with him), but the way he explained the menu made all the difference. Rather than leaving us to decipher steak cuts we didn’t fully understand, he talked us through everything even bringing a plate of raw meats and joints to the table so we could see what we were choosing. That alone was such a lovely, confidence boosting touch.
It felt less like ordering from a menu and more like being guided through an experience. Choosing cuts we’d never tried before suddenly felt exciting rather than daunting. The wine pairings, both red and white, were also expertly suggested and absolutely spot on.
There were some lovely comments around the table that say it all:
Mags declared it was the best meal she’s ever had.
I loved how beautifully everything was chosen for us, the advice, the reassurance, the sense that you really couldn’t go wrong.
We all agreed how refreshing it was to be guided rather than left guessing.
The food itself? Outstanding. Every bite felt considered, indulgent and worth savouring, perfect for a birthday celebration where you want to slow down and enjoy the moment.

I Went to Pasture for a second visit on a Wednesday night before a gig as previous been and loved it we brought friends with us. My wife is celiac and honestly from stepping through the door the staff couldn’t do enough and explained the menus they have and how they use separate areas in the kitchen. The food knowledge was amazing. Great atmosphere with amazing service and well the burger was great! The Mac n cheese side is the best I have ever had! We do love coming to cardiff, so we will definitely come back again!

Absolutely phenomenal service and food. We had high hopes when we booked but we were blown away by every detail. All of the staff are really friendly and a credit to the brand, but especially Veronica as she was our waitress. She is so knowledgeable, skilled and she couldn’t do enough for us. We loved the whole experience made more special by Isabella who looked after us so well. The food was amazing and some really unusual choices for sides and starters – couldn’t manage dessert but had a cocktail downstairs in the secret lounge. Fab. A special 70th birthday to remember.
