Excellent experience. This was my 2nd time here. I live in Maryville 52 minutes away when taking the windy backroads (which I do to avoid the Parkway and main highways) where we also have a restaurant named Cancun (I’m not sure if it has the same owner or not) but this one is perfectly situated to stop at on the way home from Dollywood. It was a busy Saturday night (11/29/25) but that didn’t mean anything. We had a seat right away, our server was very friendly and attentive to us, and especially made sure my youngest with Down Syndrome was happy. The ONLY thing we regret was that my wife spilled her drink because it was embarrassing and we felt awful for the mess. If you eat at Cancun, you will be supporting a local business instead of one of the big corporate money vacuums and I bet you will like what you taste. The food was very fresh and delicious. My pictures don’t do it justice because I remembered to take pictures of my chicken fajita nachos AFTER I already put habanero sauce on them and started eating. I will always stand with a local place over a big chain. I grew up in a heavily-Hispanic part of Blount County and usually always pick that option when dining out because I know what I’m going to get but I could be biased so you can let your tastebuds be the judge.

Best Mexican in town! All staff are so nice and tend to what ever you need! Food is 10/10 never had better. It’s always nice and hot and they will refill your chips and salsa the whole time. They get you seated fast even when they are slammed pack. And the staff stay calm when it is really busy.

We came at 9:30 at night, looking for a restaurant open late on a Saturday. The parking is it’s only flaw….but it was very busy, completely full restaurant. We were seated immediately (amazing) I thought for sure there would be a wait. Greeted warmly, everything, drinks and food came so quickly…. Delicious. Definitely worth a stop!

Food was good. Not too different from some of the best we’ve had. But service could be improved. After drinks we had to wait a while to get someone to take our order even though we were ready. Not that there were nobody in sight but a bunch including the one that finally came over were folding napkins and engaged in a boisterous conversation right next table. We were never given the option of flour/corn tortillas and we forgot as well. After food was served we wanted ask for corn tortillas as one of us has gluten allergy. Again took way too long for someone to show up. We even signaled someone in that table folding napkins he had to call someone and after quite a while someone showed up inquiring how’s everything. When we retorted with “we need corn” tortillas he seemed quite taken aback. As if we deviated from the script – “good” with a mouthful. But eventually he brought corn tortillas. By the time we had finished there were no water refills. It felt like that table was abandoned by the assigned host and others were half heartedly chipping in because someone made us sit there. Anyways we got out.

We showed up on a Sunday evening with a party of 7. The staff was generous and quickly seated us at a table.
We were immediately greeted by our server who was super friendly.
He brought us tortilla chips and salsa.
We ordered our food and the servings were very large! Good was super tasty
We would return here when we come back to this area.

The food is amazing. The service is warm and welcoming which makes the whole experience even better. Whenever we’re in Tennessee this is our go to spot we always make it a point to come back!

My husband and I had an amazing first time experience here! The service and food were amazing!
I tried the chicken fajita chimichanga and they allowed us to order churros though we did not see them on the menu.
The portion sizes were much larger than we expected and we could not stop talking about how good the food was after each bite. We didn’t take advantage of the drink specials this time, but we’ll be back to do so.
We’re excited to return!

What a fun place! Who would have thought to have authentic Mexican in the mountains?! The place was recommended by someone at a church we visited. This place had a fun decor. The homemade chips were hot and salsa had a gentle kick. The lunch special was a great value and my husband loved the shrimp and scallop fajita. Highly recommended if you are in the area.
