while gasping for air i try to navigate to the line as a thunder of welcomes are aimed at me like missles. I have never experienced such a phenomenal welcome not just by the smoke but by the people like 7/5 ish stars. As i overwhelmingly stumble to the line i contemplate the extraordinary options of the extremely brighten menus. As my dilated pupils are struggling to see the heaven-like light of a screen, i journey to find the brisket grilled cheese. I have never seen a sandwhich quite like this one, i knew it was love at first bite. The worker started blabbing on and on about a love club but i already I ALREADY KNOW what club i love, nothing else mattered in that moment except for me and my brisket grilled cheese. i did appreciate the counter with a noble hunger for the purest white loafs, only to be met with the grievous tidings that none remained, l and that i must, against my will and better judgment, partake of wheat coarse, speckled, and most effective to my spirit, as though providing itself sought to mock my appetite. And more simply as the younger generation has informed me…..TSPMO.
overall, environment was well beyond inviting, i felt loved.
food-juicy, delectable, cheesy, extravagant, tender, comforting.
customer experience- beyond anything i could’ve imagined, i LOVE these workers, i genuinely smile brought to my face.
love you all,
Daminion.
I went with a tried and true Wisconsin cauliflower soup with the onion strings. This is keto friendly if you’re curious.
Chocolate mousse pie was decadent and just the right amount of chocolate.
It was weird when I ordered my food because I ordered it for dine in, but they initially served it to me to go. I told them I got it for dine in and they still gave it to me in a disposable bowl? I guess all their bowls were dirty or something? I’ve no idea. I guess I should’ve got my food to go with how messy the place was.
They did start to bus tables as I left, but seemed like they could have earlier as it seemed like they had extra behind the counter people they had when I arrived.
Let’s start with the employees were trying their best, and they had good attitudes. That really is awesome. Good on them in this very stressful environment.
On Friday Jan 2nd and there were about 30+ people in line, and it appeared they had a huge wave of online orders as well. While the employees were taking orders they had about 20+ empty boxes waiting to be filled for carry out plus whatever people were ordering in line.
This is where it all came loose – they just simply couldn’t keep up. There were 15-20 people standing by the register with messed up orders, forgetting multiple items in bags, wrong orders given out. Etc. again, it could have been worse had employees had bad attitudes but they were trying their best.
Stores will get busy, backed up, etc but from an operational and training standpoint, the store leadership and management has failed their employees and this store. Teamwork, training, systems, processes etc all went out the window during this time. If management really reads this – you’ll talk to any employees who worked that night and see none of this is an exaggeration.
Unfortunately there are some huge training opportunities that need to happen and I have a feeling there are many people who won’t be going back to Zupas based on this experience.
I’ve been in retail many years and the store will get overrun and processes tested. Unfortunately, it broke this time around and will need to be corrected because it’s just not sustainable for employees or customers.
The soup was barely above room temp but that’s not normal for this location. Might have just been a slow day.
The sandwich and salads were excellent as always. The crew on shift were working hard to be fast so the visible effort meant a lot. They’re a good team and we’ll be back to hopefully get a hot soup this next time.
