We were informed that they had run out of clams and would replace the spaghetti vongole with more crabmeat. While it was still alright, it didn’t quite feel like a vongole without the clams. The sashimi platter was a bit of a miss for me……at this price point, I felt I could have gotten better quality elsewhere. That said, the octopus and black cod were excellent and lived up to expectations.
A big shout out to manager Madhu, who was incredibly sweet and attentive. When he found out we were celebrating a birthday, he kindly offered us a cake, which was such a thoughtful gesture. Overall, despite a few minor misses with the food, the service truly elevated the experience, and I would definitely return again.
A really nice place for seafood, for sure.
Highly recommended. Along that path, you can find different cuisines, such as Indian, Italian, Greek, Chinese, French, etc.
To begin, I would like to acknowledge that most of the staff were friendly and pleasant. However, one staff member, the bartender on duty between 5pm and 8pm, was exceptionally rude.
Our outdoor table, which was right beside the bar, had a buildup of used plates. One of us neatly stacked the plates and approached the bartender, who was not occupied at that moment, to hand them over. Instead of assisting, he replied in a frustrated tone, “take a seat la” and told us to use the service button. This was very poor customer service. He expected us to bring the plates back to the table, press the button and wait for another staff member to clear them, when he could have simply taken the plates and kindly advised us to use the button next time. His attitude and lack of initiative were extremely disappointing.
To make matters worse, after bringing the plates back to the table, we had to press the service button several times before anyone attended to us. It took an unnecessarily long time just to have the plates cleared.
Later, we requested for a cake we had placed in the fridge to be brought out. That also took an unusually long time. When the cake finally arrived, the waiter began distributing plates, but halfway through, the bartender interrupted him for a discussion. The waiter stopped serving and the two of them continued talking while all of us waited. One of us eventually had to take the plates from the waiter and distribute them ourselves. Only after this did the service improve.
I understand it was a busy Saturday night and I appreciate the friendliness of the other staff. However, the bartender’s attitude, lack of basic service awareness and interruption of other staff in the middle of their tasks were unacceptable.
Lastly, I ordered the angus portobello burger and requested medium rare. The burger was served completely well done (see attached photo).
I hope you will look into these issues to improve the dining experience for future customers. Thank you for taking the time to read my feedback.
The clams we were served were full of sand to the point that it completely ruined the dish. When I raised this issue, instead of apologizing or offering a solution, I was told that “it’s just like that.” That response is unacceptable. Properly cleaning and purging clams is basic kitchen practice, and customers should not be expected to tolerate sandy seafood.
To make matters worse, the waiter responded by saying he serves 20 platters a day and this “doesn’t occur.” I’m not sure what he was trying to imply — that we were exaggerating? That it was our problem? The tone came across as dismissive and unprofessional rather than helpful.
The soup was also served lukewarm, not hot as it should be. Throughout the entire meal, no one bothered to refill our water either. For a restaurant that positions itself as a quality seafood establishment, both the food standards and service fell far below expectations.
Very disappointing experience overall. I hope management seriously reviews both kitchen quality control and staff training.
When I arrived, I still had to queue for quite a while because the staff were busy setting up a table for seven. When they finally attended to me and I said it was a table for one, they just led me to the counter and asked if a counter seat was okay. Then what was the point of making a reservation?
No one explained that only the oysters with stickers on the menu were available, so I had to reorder after finding out midway. No utensils were given when my oysters came, and again none when my lobster bisque arrived. Both dishes just sat there while I waited for cutlery. Service was almost non-existent and you have to flag down the bartender yourself to order.
Food-wise, it was also a letdown. The lobster bisque just tasted creamy like Campbell’s soup with no lobster flavour at all. The oysters were not shucked properly and the meat was stuck to the shell, so you could not even slurp it off cleanly in one go.
Overall, it feels like a place more for regulars and people who come to drink, not for anyone actually looking to enjoy a good meal. Definitely not worth making a trip out of the way for.
