BEWARE ! – Would you eat this ??
First let me say that this location had earned a negative reputation from many in this area, but had improved somewhat over the last year or so. In fact, my wife and I had become regular visitors of this location and even placed frequent online delivery orders. However, on this night we would regret the visit and felt we were targeted by a vindictive kitchen staff and server who wanted to send a message.
Once our food arrived the issue began. The country fried steak I ordered was under cooked, with almost no batter on the steak. One of my wife’s sides was turnip greens that were cold and just didn’t taste like they usually do. I agreed after tasting them myself. We asked our server for replacements for the steak and requested pinto beans in place of the turnip greens. This request clearly frustrated our server, who returned to the kitchen. When she returned with the pinto beans, she left an almost empty, dirty bowl containing a few cold beans in the bottom (ten or so), with dried juice and food on the bowl. It was obviously a leftover dish. The server sat the bowl down and left quickly for the kitchen. It was then that we noticed several employees watching from the kitchen area. When the server finally returned, we asked her to get the manager on duty. After an extended wait, no manager came. My wife then went to the front register area and requested a manager again. Still, no manager came and kitchen staff could again be seen peeking from the kitchen doorway. Finally, the woman from the register came by our table and asked if a manager ever came. We told her no. She said she would call him yet again. We waited several more minutes and finally got a visit from the manager on duty (Logan) who was new to this location. We explained the issues to him and he insisted no one had called him to come to our table. He was very friendly, apologetic and seemed to genuinely care what had happened. When he looked at the steak and the pinto beans, he agreed it appeared to have come from a “bussing tub” or another plate. He asked if we minded if he took pictures of our plates and of course we agreed. He said he had dealt with similar complaints all night long. He said there was a new General Manager and he would pass this on to her and suggested we contact her as well. He said he wouldn’t consider bringing a check for what he saw on our table. We explained we felt targeted and victimized by his staff, including the server, who should have never delivered food like that to a table. He agreed and felt it was no accident.
Again, we have never placed a formal complaint before this. In this case however, this could not be accidental and was intentionally plated and brought to the table in the condition we received it. That, along with the snickering and peeking from the kitchen further shows the intent. We would like to thank Logan for his kindness and honesty, but feel due to his new position, he may be limited in his ability to throughly investigate and address this. I am including some of the pictures we took that night, to better illustrate the condition of what was served to us. I think you will agree there are health risks with this type of games by staff. Most importantly, we just don’t want this to happen to others.
Sadly, this location continues to have some serious issues. Bad service is one thing, but what happened here is quite another. So let’s hope the new management can eventually correct the issues. In the mean time, Beware and do NOT send something back !
Since that night, we have visited the Goodlettsville Tennessee location and the food and service were excellent.

*(Update) We submitted this incident to Cracker Barrel Corporate, thinking they would be shocked by this treatment of guests. They responded with a brief form letter and a “free meal” voucher. After what you see in the pictures, this was more insulting than appreciated. We don’t want a free meal, we want them to care, so it doesn’t happen to you.

We had no power fir 3 days . Zero negative temperatures. When we got pulled out of our driveway. Cracker Barrel was open. A beauty in my site. I bought a beautiful cathart jacket you know for women for $44.00’s. Then I bought 2 sweat sharks for $16.00 all 60 % off. A cross necklace; 2 bracelets. The secret go straight to clearance. Our server ANNA.. Was except. Can’t go wrong with hot coffee and mama’s pancake breakfast
We left Hendersonville which was iceaggedon 2926. Never have I experienced such a storm. I’m grateful to our 1st responders and workers who could make it and live where God is prevalent. Thank you Father God that was born with electricity!

Service – while friendly – was slow. We requested cornbread muffins. They took a long time to come out. We were told they just came out of the oven as a reason for the delay. Based on them being room temperature, I’ll have to disagree. I ordered the grilled rainbow trout with green beans and broccoli. The green beans were bad. My husband ordered the fish fry with hashbrown casserole and fried okra. The hashbrown casserole was room temperature. His okra didn’t show up until we were both done with our meal and getting ready to leave. This chain continues to disappoint.

The Cracker Barrell chains downward spiral continues as per our experience here.

Nice area, nice atmosphere & Mandy at the hostess stand did a good job.

Food arrived late, the corn muffins cold despite being delivered late because they were “just out of the oven” & my okra arrived 15 min after our meal.

Horrible experience.

I placed a pickup order and when I checked my bag I noticed something missing. I checked the bag and the receipt just said out. No one communicated while I was in the store. Then I had to go back in for a refund and they acted like I was wrong for not just wanting a new side. Very frustrating. Additionally, update the site to say items are out so people aren’t driving out of their way for items they don’t have. The steak was incredibly bland and the hash browns were cold and stiff. Terrible experience…and they don’t answer the phone.

We go seated at a table right away. Unfortunately, we waited almost 15 minutes for a server. A customer seated beside us had to go find a manager to get service. After that, things went well. Food was good, and that server checked on us about 3 times. Not bad, but could have been much better.

The wait to be seated was not too long. Although the hostess said he’s cleaning your table now we weren’t seated for another 15 minutes. Our waitress was kind and attentive. The two stars was for having to wait 45 minutes for our food to be prepared at 11:00 in the morning ‍♀️

The server was horrible, bad attitude. She came to our table to take drink order, food order and then brought food. Never seen her again. I ordered chicken and dumplings meal with okra, green beans and apples. Only thing that was hot was the chicken and dumplings. And this was at the Hendersonville TN location. When asked at register when I paid how was the expirence, I said food was cold and the waitress never came back around to let her know. Worst experience ever. It was me and my youngest daughter.

Cracker Barrel remains a fond memory. I have been a client and stock holder since the first location opened and the initial offering was released. So when I post this it is with history and interest.
This recent transition has raised all sort of issues and there is no need to rehash what has occurred. I found the store to be very clean and organized, the staff cheerful, courteous and professional. They were very representative of the culture I have come to know and respect.
However, they can not overcome the menu and selections offered, Today’s menu can best be described and breakfast and chicken selections. Yes there are a few other meat offerings but they seem to be more of an afterthought. My meal was bland at best. It was as if it had been warmed just prior to serving. I even had a cup of their chicken NOODLE soup. It was far more noodles than chicken unless you count the broth.
I found it interesting that they advertised a soup of the day but only offered chicken noodle. When I asked our server about that they responded that they did not recall ever having seen any other selection. :(.
I’m glad I experienced the old Cracker Barrel and wish their future success but feel the road they are on is not to regained glory. Go Luck!

A friend and I went for lunch. Their dressing was so bad my friend got really sick. My fried chicken salad was nothing but lettuce very few of anything else. The waitress was so airy and thought she would answer our questions for us before we finished asking. The manager of course had to come out. The food was awful. The Cracker Barrel in Hendersonville was very bland. Not again!
