Highlights from the Table
• The Food: The Ravioli di Aragosta was fantastic—rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. My partner’s Linguini Frutti di Mare in white wine sauce was equally impressive, paired with a solid bowl of Clam Chowder. Don’t skip the Caesar Salad; the dressing is delicious.
• The Drink: I tried their unique Limoncello Martini. It was a fun departure from the norm—pink in color and spiked with rum. It tasted great and was a refreshing twist on a classic.
• The Finish: We ended with the Pistachio Gelato, which was easily the best part of the dessert menu. Smooth, authentic, and the perfect end to the night.
Bottom Line
From the creative cocktails to the standout lobster ravioli, Calo’s is a neighborhood gem that hits all the right notes.
This time, I ordered something new for me and I fell for an image published on a review like this but my dish didn’t look anything like it. I start my eating with other senses like sight.
Try this restaurant- you won’t be disappointed!!
And mind you, they had a whole dining room that was not being occupied at the current time We were seated at the front door there was a there was a table available next to us and we were being watched. Might I add myself and my sister-in-law are black. We did not feel welcome. The food was disgusting. I ordered fried calamari they told me they had a spicy calamari I expected maybe a little creole powder to be sprinkled on there. They poured a half a bottle of hot sauce on the food. I didn’t want to send it back because I already was not appreciating the energy in the room. And I was hungry because I hadn’t eaten all day Several people stood around and stared at us as if we were Out of place. I began to feel very uncomfortable. We ordered a special off of the entrée menu which consist of shrimp, scallop and mussels we split our meal. I got one shrimp, one scallop she got one Shrimp and one scallop, and neither one of us got muscles which was also included in the dish according to the special menuI could taste the
jar juice from the asparagus because it was not fresh as well as the sun-dried tomato. I feel like the food wasn’t prepared
properly purposely the next day when I went to work I had diarrhea actually when I left the restaurant my stomach was bloated from all of that hot sauce. I guess they assume all Black people like their food drowned in hot sauce. I didn’t see any black employees working there. This is a place that I would never recommend to anyone they are not an inclusive restaurants. Their food is disgusting and I think it was prepared that way because I mentioned that I had a gift card and I guess they assumed we were low class and sat us by the door and watched us because maybe they assumed we were going to dine and dash I haven’t been to this restaurant in years. I can’t remember why but I do know that I’ll never return again if there was a zero star button that’s what I would’ve chosen. And my coupon was wasted, and my business was not appreciated. I appreciate my friend that gave me the gift card. She had great intentions, but this is the place that if you don’t wanna have diarrhea the next day you shouldn’t eat there.
