It was our first time dining at Chicago’s Home of Chicken & Waffles. We were greeted and seated by Dereon a very lovely young lady who greeted everyone in my party with a warm, genuine greeting and a friendly smile. Dereon was great at making sure we were seated promptly. Alicia our waitress was also very friendly and attentive. She was very helpful when I had questions about the different menu choices. Both Dereon and Alicia checked on our table during our dining experience without being overbearing. On our way out Dereon gave each member of my dining party a warm farewell. Overall, a good dining experience- good food, good interactions with the staff and good dining atmosphere.

Terrible. They Gave us old food that was prepared DAYS ago. My catfish was STALE, my sides were STALE, the green beans were the only thing that was fine. They Gave us banana pudding with no vanilla wavers just cream and brown bananas. I will NEVER EVER NEVER spend another dime in this establishment. They have went downhill terribly they use to be really good but I’m not sure what’s going on really wish I could get my money back couldn’t even eat it all I tried my best to enjoy it because I spent over $60 after picking around the food I simply threw the rest out.

Finally had the chance to try the food here thanks to their generous and concious Too Good To Go Program.
The food was plentiful and delicious, especially still warm despite the long wait due to the popularity of this location. The sweet beans and rice were savory and delicious, the chicken was soft and flavorful. The Mac and cheese side was creamy and tasted home-made. Wonderful staff and amazing food.

Was greeted when we entered and seated very quickly.
The staff that my party encountered was very friendly and tentative.
My group was large and we all ordered different items.
Unfortunately, myself and 2 others were disappointed with our waffles- they were hard.
The rest of the food was great.
Justin was our server, Justin did an awesome job! I believe the manager was Sabrina, whom was very welcoming.
This establishment is dog-friendly, there were 2 separate tables accompanied by small dogs.

Today I was feeling sick and I asked my god sister to order me some MacArthurs and she told me that I should try Chicago chicken and waffles. I gave them a shot. The food was delivered to me and when I say the worst chicken, I have ever had a scoop of macaroni a nice amount of dressing with no flavor, collard greens full of stems in the driest cornbread on this side of earth never ever ever Ever again. Look at the Chicken thigh it taste oven fried. Here’s a picture of me getting it and here’s a picture of me being done with it.

Ordered 2 fried wings for BOGO free with Mac & cheese, potato salad via UberEats. When I received it, the potato salad was missing. The best they can do is call & ask for a substitution if they don’t have potato salad but they didn’t. They left it empty. Not worth $20 especially when missing a side.

Overpriced, but don’t mind for good soul food. Food was good, not the candied yams though. Collard greens superb, however I have terrible seafood/fish allergy. When I told the server she looked at me weird, so I elaborated to her to please alert the kitchen because sometimes cross contamination can occur. She said to me no need because she’s 100% certain they keep fish and chicken separate. Needless to say within 30 minutes of leaving I started breaking out in terrible hives, then projectile vomited everywhere. I was so sick from an allergic reaction my boyfriend had to come save me and give me medicine because I couldn’t even drive anymore. THEN when I tried to call them as soon as I said “can I please speak to a manager” I was hung up on. And on top of that the server was terrible in general constantly had to flag her down she never checked up on us nor was she attentive. The music was also too loud and the bus boy was the best thing about that place to be honest.

I had the best experience at this restaurant!! The waitress Alicia B was hands down the sweetest ever!! Her bubbly personality made the dining experience even better!!! To add on the food here is amazing!! The portion sizes are good and the food here is so fresh!

This is the best soulful in Chicago. The ambience feel like you at your mama’s house. I love coming here because they treat you like family and you get a full stomach. My server, Alicia Barnes, Is that girl that came out fast she checked on us not too much but just enough! She was great and efficient. I Will continue to go because this is my staple soul food heaven

My food was horrible and because I ordered with uber eats they refused to help me.
This rice and gravy taste like the microwavable minute rice the gravy is definitely the gravy in the packs. The Mac and cheese is definitely boxed Mac and cheese it’s horrible and the cornbread I can throw it and knock someone out with it.
How could you refuse to help your customers when you serve them food they can’t eat.
