Cody’s Original Roadhouse Port Charlotte
This place is in Port Charlotte Town Center Mall. It looks cool from the outside and even cooler on the inside. We got there on a Thursday night about 5ish. This place was hopping with a lot of people. It was neat and clean, and I loved the interior decorations. Our waitress Brenda was on the ball with our drink, our food orders, and any questions we had because of our first time there. I got a beer, and my wife got a Pina Colada, both were cold and very good. I ordered the 1lb Prime Rib med well with a side of Mashed Potatoes. My wife ordered the Filet Mignon wrapped in Bacon with a side of Baked Sweet Potato in Cinnamon Butter. For an appetizer I ordered the half stick of Jumbo Onions on a stick. Brenda stated she would bring out warm Rolls with Cinnamon Butter and a bowl of Salad that she would mix for the both of us right at the table. Our Onion Rings were very good and very large. The Salad she mixed and served on cold plates it was so good. When our Steaks came out, they looked amazing. Both are steaks were done perfect and they were so good. We could practically cut them with a butter knife they were that tender. Our side of Mashed Potatoes and the Sweet Potato was also very good. All our food was hot and flavorful. Brenda kept checking on us to make sure everything was perfect even a manager stopped by and asked us how the food was. Our food was some of the best we had in this area in fact the entire experience was one of the best yet. Special thanks out to Brenda for such excellent service and the good vibe of this place. They do run Specials everyday on food and drinks you just have to check. I must give this place 5 out of 5 stars because of the great experience we had there. I for one can’t wait to go back!

My wife requested this restaurant for Valentine’s Day and our last day in Port Charlotte. We love the atmosphere and the sevice is some of the best around. A big shout out to Shelby for being awesome and making us feel welcome. She took such good care of us and made sure we didnt run out of anything. I watched other servers with the customers and I can tell they care about evryone that comes thru the doors.
We love the salad and how it is tossed right in front of us with their homemade garlic ranch dressing. The buns came to us nice and hot with cinnamon butter along side in a cup. We both ordered the grilled wild caught haddock and I have to say its the best fish I’ve had in our 6 weeks here.
We will definitely be back on our next trop to town

We ate here about 5 years ago and it was not good. We decided to give ot another try and we were pleasantly surprised. I ordered a filet and it was good and my husband ordered a ribeye. His was okay – he liked mine better. The bread and butter was amazing and we liked the salad.

Our server Austin was on his game…super friendly, very attentive & knowledgeable, didn’t skip a beat; we absolutely loved him! We live in Naples and 2-3 times a year we go to an event in Avon park (Flywheelers). Stopping at Cody’s afterward is part of this tradition. From the moment we arrived the staff was excellent. The hostesses were friendly , our server was great, and the food was excellent. We also noticed that the entire staff seemed to love their job. We believe that is due to good management. I don’t know the manager or hostesses names but it was whoever was working Saturday, January 14 at 3:30. A well-oiled machine; highly recommend!! We can’t wait until the next visit…looking forward to “that ice cold salad and hot rolls w/ cinnamon butter”.

We had a large group of 20 people that just completed golf outing. Called Cody’s and asked if they had room and could accommodate us. “G” took the call and said yes. In a matter of 15 minutes (drive time) we arrived and were greeted at the door and escorted to a back room partially closed off from the main dining area with tables and chairs completely set up for our group. “G” not only easily handled our individual orders with great service, he also ensured our orders were accurate and delivered promptly! – From steaks to soup and bottomless salad the food was great and very reasonablly priced! Cody’s restuarant is a hidden gem and Gs team, Without question provided one of the best experiences we’ve had at a local restaurant! Service like this is extremely rare in today’s world and needs to be acknowledged when it happens! Cody’s is very lucky to have G and his team! “G” is a definite asset to Cody’s steakhouse and a positive reflection on the restaurant service industry! Well done, Sir ! You made Cody’s one of our new favorite places to eat and drink at!

We have started going to Cody’s again on a regular basis. Couldn’t be more pleased with selections, specials, and service. 2 for 1’s every day till 7p and all day “at the bar.” My husband loves the chicken fried chicken and I like the chicken quesadillas. Delish! Can’t beat the endless salad and the rolls with cinnamon butter to boot. Brenda was our server. Great job. I have also enjoyed the garlic shrimps and today we tried the buffalo shrimps appetizer. Loved it. See you soon. Edit to add: Brenda (server/bar) and Gee (bar) take good care of us each time.
