We came to Elmer’s after seeing the reviews, but this was honestly such a disappointment. Karen was our server, she was polite and apologized for the delay, but we waited over 40 minutes for our food. When it finally came out, it tasted terrible and was not worth the wait at all. To make things worse, it took another 10 minutes just to get the check, and we eventually got up and went to the counter ourselves to pay. Such a waste of time and money. Never been this disappointed at a restaurant.
definitely not coming back.

Impressive pancake! It has scoops of butter mixed with lingonberries, wow. Foggy morning on I-5 and this was a quiet, cheery breakfast stop (we went early).

The best Clam Chowder I have ever had, and a Cobb Salad that was big enough for two people. Emerald, and her awesome customer service made my dining experience amazing. Highly recommend to anyone traveling through Grant’s Pass, Oregon. I went back for breakfast a couple of times and my waitress Anaya was OUTSTANDING!!

I’ve been going here for yrs. The food is delicious, often too much. Always end up taking half of it home. Waitresses are super friendly & generally happy. Prices will never be what they used to be, but that goes without saying. Also the food is served very fast. I really enjoy the seats by the windows with a view of the mountains & the streets below.

Server Christopher was the best server ever! Food was excellent! Zero wait time to get to our table even though the place was packed. The kitchen was extremely efficient because our food arrived fast. It was perfect timing to charge our car. We will save this spot for future travel while charging in Oregon!!!

The food here was outstanding. Very high quality ingredients. First time eating at Elmers, as we’re from out of state. Went there for breakfast and liked it so much, we went back for dinner.

Food was surprisingly good. I got the potato cakes and they were freaking awesome. Wife and daughter both got strawberry French toast and enjoyed it. Chicken apple sausage was another tasty surprise. Service to good, they were busy but busting their butts while keeping a smile going. Highly recommend.

In 1960, Walt and Dorothy Elmer opened breakfast focused Elmer’s Colonial Pancake House in Portland, OR. Truly a family owned and operated labor of love, Walt, Dorothy, and their three sons poured their hearts into serving the local community. It was an immediate success thanks to their commitment to bringing people together for home-style cooking, using only the finest ingredients.

Built on the foundation of Walt Elmer’s famous buttermilk pancakes, the original recipe for pancake batter was purchased for $1,000 and rumor has it that Walt kept it locked in his safe. We still use Walt’s original recipe today!

Over the years, the menu was expanded with lunch and dinner items and the restaurant became Elmer’s Pancake & Steakhouse. In 1966, Elmer’s began franchising and continues to grow to this day.

Including the newest addition, Egg N’ Joe, there are now 29 Elmer’s locations throughout Oregon, Washington, Idaho, California and Arizona.
