This is a must stop if you’re in the area. I live in wisconsin and have been here close to a dozen times now. The bbq is all really good, the side dishes are all great as well. The star of the show is their ice cream. If it’s not the best I’ve had it is in the top couple. Try the cookie monster or blueberry cheesecake. Everytime I’ve been there it is busy, but the staff are all friendly and get everyone their food quickly. I ate there on the way out on my fishing trip and the way back. Already looking forward to my next visit.

Food was really good, and so was the service. It was great having fried okra, hush puppies and greens for the first time since I moved to Ohio. Brisket and turkey were cooked well, husband liked the hot links.
Service was excellent! Super friendly and helpful.
Only complaint is the bathrooms were gross. I also wish more seating was available, as things are a tight fit as they got busy.

I was very excited to try this place and we drove 40 minutes to get there. Mac and cheese was great, collard greens were great, green beans were great. Brisket was the worst I have had unfortunately, and at $14 for a half a pound, this is inexcusable…. Not a drop of moisture. Maybe we just got a bad portion, but this was the main reason we came. We will not be making the drive again.

I got the pulled pork sammich with a side of baked beans. The food was top notch delicious. The employees were great. The place is very clean. You can see what the place looks like from my pictures. We went across the parking lot to their ice cream shop. That was some very good ice cream as well. Love it. I highly recommend going to Cockeye BBQ.

Reminds me of BBQ joints in Tennessee and Georgia. Large portions, flavorful smoke meats, and friendly staff. The highlights of the meal were the hot sausage link which was filled with cheese and jalapeños, the collard greens, and the corn casserole. The star of the visit: the sweet tea! Just like southern sweet tea. If your looking for southern bbq without having to drive to the South, I highly recommend stopping here.

Great menu and friendly helpful staff. This used to be a perfect 5/5…. but the brisket over the last 2 years has become some of the worst in the area. Everything else has been top notch, every time! Sides, ribs, sandwiches have all been great over and over again. But the brisket, sadly, has gone very far downhill.

So, we walk in the front door and obviously looked like first timers. A guy comes over and introduces himself as the owner. He proceeds to give us the rundown on the menu and how the place works. Dude was super friendly and genuine. It was lunchtime so we decided to split the two-meat plate. Ordered some ribs and brisket, flanked with the Asian slaw and cheesy potatoes. After assembling a sampling of the sauces, we sat down and waited. In less than five minutes our food was brought out. Everything on the plate was outstanding and all of the various sauces each had a distinct, rich flavor. We liked the sauces so much that I went back up and ordered some fries to keep dipping away. I give it a 10 out of 10. Great staff, great service, and great food. We’ll be back.

And I was right. We came back. This time we split another two-meat plate and the smoked/fried bologna sammich. Nice portion of bologna and peppers on the sammich. Perfect! The corn casserole is like dessert. 10/10 again. My sister and brother-in-law stopped over based on my recommendation and agree with my rating.

It was my first time eating here like I understand this level to the ribs game. I’m not trying to take anything away from this business. I’m just going to assume they were having an off day with the ribs. My Ribs were burnt and mostly fat & petrified, horribly overcooked! 0/10

Mac & cheese was alright taste like store bought
Yet still yummy 3/10

House home made bbq Sauces 10/10

Fried grits triangle 10/10

Service 10/10
At rush-hour at 12 noon exactly and our food came out and roughly about five minutes. Great delivery time.!

Atmosphere 10/10
The temperature was very excellent for a nice summer afternoon day inside the restaurant. It was very inviting and it smells of bbq permeated the whole restaurant. We are welcome by a clerk/server that made us feel very at home!
It was very clean inside the restroom & and dining hall!

Overall rating of this restaurant from this experience, I would 7/10

Only because the ribs were not on point this day !

Keep in mind for you virgins: this is a “fast casual” type of place. Don’t be shocked.
It was also, for the most part, warm and friendly. By both staff and patrons.

The food had plenty of flavor. That’s for sure.

That being said, most of it arrived medium warm to cool and less than desirable palate wise. Again, very tasty just would have been better hot, especially as fast as the food came out.

Only the Taquitos and the sides of greens and cheesy potatoes were actually hot or pleasurable temperature wise. The greens, so you know, are far more a southern thing than I’m used to with my momma’s greens and she was from Nebraska. They didn’t use vinegar. I haven’t tasted that flavor in years.

I’ll go back and see if it was a fluke.
