It is a nice warm cozy place with a unigue old style ceiling cooling fans. Our daughter in law brought us here for lunch. I had the hamburger with a side of garden greens with a Vinagarette dressing. It was very good! I also had the Brandy Old Fashioned Sweet. It too was good. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Our daughter in law had the Reuber and really enjoyed it.

Great location. Indoor and outdoor seating options. Great menu. Friendly server. Service a little slow. Poutine disappointing (dry unsalted fries, one big lump of cheese making sharing difficult, not enough gravy) but the rest of the food was enjoyed.

The food was spectacular. I had the special, it was ham stuffed chicken filet wrapped in bacon on top of rosemary cavatappi and my wife had the seafood pasta. The service was excellent too. She made sure everything was satisfactory the whole time we were there.

Food– burger itself had a uniquely delicious flavor. .
It shouldn’t come with bacon included. Bacon should be an optional add-on for an extra fee. If I ask for no bacon, they won’t reduce the cost. Personally I find bacon to be overated. It overpowers everything it is paired with and I’m not particularly into its smoky flavor. I prefer to enjoy the taste of cheeseburger. This cheeseburger deserves to stand alone.

Regarding atmosphere and service: I get that a party of 2 would be seated at a smaller table in order to save the bigger tables for parties of 3+. However, when the restaurant is half full and past its busiest time of the night, with numerous larger tables available, it would be better to seat even parties of 2 at the tables that aren’t crammed together like sardines.

I could have requested to be seated at a table not packed in next to other diners, though I could see they were all 4-seaters. However I prefer not to make those kind of requests as it can be awkward. A five star experience would be one that would automatically pick the more gracious option that would be reasonable for the situation, given there were more than enough larger tables available and reasonably no expectation of suddenly getting a rush of larger partied. Thaz all! No biggie just love giving my opinion long windedly.

Overall I would go back. Though I would not order the frites— they are bland !! Four stars for food because the burger was uniquely tasty

I was so excited to finally experience Cooper’s Tavern with a gift card I received. Reading positive reviews and seeing how busy it was, my hopes were really high for a fantastic meal. We sat outside to avoid a wait to be seated. We started with some good cheese curds, which were a promising start. Isabelle was our server and she explained some items on the menu, which I had questions about. For my main, I decided on the pork belly mac and cheese (without blue cheese) after much deliberation. Sadly, after a rather long wait, the dish was a major letdown. It was surprisingly bland, and even the three pork cubes on top lacked any flavor. Despite being very hungry, I couldn’t bring myself to finish it. It’s a shame when expectations don’t meet reality. I explained to Isabelle when she noticed that I wasn’t eating my food that I was dissatisfied, before walking away, she shrugged and said, “Well, it’s mac and cheese.”

Cute rustic restaurant with unique eats (ie a beet and goat cheese sandwich). Delicious cheese curds and fresh salads!

Great tavern with a nice menu and draft beer selection.

We went on the weekend and brunch menu was in effect, so I tried the breakfast burrito. It was delicious with just the right amount of cheese topping. I did think halfway thru that maybe having the cheese topping dip versus smothered would make it easier to eat it as a handheld, but was great regardless.

Their kids menu was also a good variety and very affordable versus other nearby places.

Our server was very friendly and prompt. I’d definitely return.

The waiter came to our table every five minutes to to rush us out just because we didn’t order enough food. I understand the pressure of tips and all, but I was asked if I wanted a box when I was still chewing my food. When I said I’m still eating if that’s okay she went away only to come back two minutes later to ask if we wanted dessert. We had to get up and ask to switch to the bar just be left alone and finish our drinks in peace. The bar is lovely and the staff there were great, good beer selection too. I know the tipping culture here is insane but maybe they should put in a minimum order amount if that’s what they consider acceptable behaviour.

Had a delightful meal before going to Madison Night Market. The salmon was very good, as we’re the crab cakes. Our server, Alex, was attentive w/o being too attentive.
