Aimed at BBQ meat lovers and u will not be disappointed. Very individual location with an extra bar on the roof. We had the pulled meat platter for two which filled us to the brim. Nice variety of beer and spirits. Dessert was also delish. It’s a bit noise because many people are served but the food quality was top notch.

We ordered the “best of beef” “all in”: loved the ribs, the sliders and the brisket but the entrecote was so tough we only tried one slice each and took the rest home for our dog.. Coleslaw was very bland too unfortunately. The desserts were great but the cookie was very thin and the mousse pastry was very hard to crack.

Overall though it was too pricey

We had the absolute pleasure of dining at Black Smoke in Antwerp, and what an experience it was! we eat on the rooftop!

From the moment you walk in, you’re immersed in a stunning setting with a warm, stylish atmosphere. The smoky aroma that fills the space is incredible — it instantly whets your appetite and sets the tone for what’s to come.

We chose the discovery menu, and it was nothing short of exceptional. Every dish was perfectly cooked, rich in flavor, and beautifully presented. The food is divine, a true celebration of smoked meats and bold, balanced tastes.

The cocktails are equally impressive — creative, flavorful, and crafted with care. The table service was top-notch: attentive, professional, and genuinely friendly.

To top it all off, the prices are very reasonable considering the outstanding quality of the food and the overall experience.

In short: an absolute must-visit in Antwerp for food lovers. We were blown away from start to finish!

The food is “low and slow” but the atmosphere is “eat fast and get out”

Can you imagine, after having a reservation 2 months in advance, hiring a babysitter for our first night out in over a year, and before we had finished our dessert were asked to leave so another couple could have our table… at 9:30pm.

Thanks for the warm beer, but I can’t recommend this business model.

Adding more to my comment since the restaurant replied to me; first of all I recommend you to check your own menu because you aren’t aware of the prices. You have a tasting menu for 79.99 euros per person. You have almost 0 signature cocktails, and the staff couldn’t even manage making a jack and coke. Thanks!

Atmosphere and interior design is great, service is super slow. We ordered the combo that costs 80 euros per person, did it worth it? No. I’d recommend you to directly order meat, I can’t say they’re very good with appetizers. Pastrami was extremely good! Their cocktail selection is very bad, not diverse at all. They can be more creative with all the sauces they have.

I had an amazing experience at Black Smoke! The food was absolutely incredible—huge portions and some of the best meat I’ve ever had. I tried “The Best of 3,” a mix of different meats, and it truly lived up to its name. Every bite was packed with flavor, perfectly cooked, and well-seasoned. The atmosphere was great, and I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend for any meat lover!

Overall not the most pleasant experience.
The food was mediocre and doesn’t hold up to the American barbecue description.
The atmosphere is pleasant and the music perfectly matched. Seating was okay for my partner, however the wood chair on my end had me shifting uncomfortably after 10 minutes.
Servers were friendly, although not very attentive. We waited several times to be helped with drinks, and I would like to add that they were not that busy.

Once, when trying to get service from the person that had helped us twice before, we got a quick (slightly annoyed) reply that the server was busy and would get someone else to help us. Leaving us confused as to who was actually serving us..

The food. Undoubtedly the biggest dissapointment of the evening. The pulled beef on the starters and mains were very dry. The beef brisket, although soft and tasty, was immensely salty, leaving us wishing our drinks weren’t empty. The Charolais sirloin steak contained a lot of tendons leaving me with the unfortunate situation of having to remove the meat from my mouth, as my teeth had lost the battle.
The sides were delicious, but we had hoped for the barbecue meat to be the star of the show.

The positive highlight of the evening was the spectacular cocktails that were delicious.

It is unlikely we will return to Black Smoke and can therefore not recommend it.
