We had a wonderful experience with our server Mal. She made us feel welcome and like we were old friends visiting her home. She was personable and funny and helpful. She made our special evening fun and pleasant.
We exchanged stories with Mal and exchanged hugs at the end of the evening. She mentioned that they secured the necklace in their office safe while we ate our meal and their manager helped to watch us and had a security guy help to bring the surprise out at the perfect moment at the end of our meal!
Mal asked us the secret to a long lasting relationship. Mel… It is to always say “we” instead of “I” and to focus on the other person being happy before yourself. If you both are more excited by the other person’s happiness and wellbeing than your own, then your love will last forever!
Thanks for a beautiful, memorable evening out, Mal! My wife was soooo overwhelmed and totally surprised. Thanks to all of the staff for your help! You’re all amazing!
Sorry. I didn’t even mention the food! I had the prime rib. It was like butter. I also had a Yorkshire pudding. It was crispy, tender, and eggy. And it was the size of my head I swear. My wife had a Ribeye steak with mashed potatoes. The potatoes were so smooth and buttery. Oh and we both had wedge salads to start. The bits of honey candied bacon on top were soooo good, sweet and crispy. I had a smoked old fashioned cocktail that was very nice. And my wife had an espresso martini that was also very good.
I also appreciate how they accommodated us with our baby, when they saw the space we were given at first didn’t fit, they ended up moving us to even a better and more comfortable space.
My smoke ribeye initially came out medium rare, and while they looked great, it wasn’t quite my preference. When I mentioned it, the manager immediately came over with a sincere apology and offered to remake the entire dish. I told them it only needed a little more cooking, and they handled the request professionally, kindly, and without hesitation.
What truly impressed me was the level of service — they didn’t just fix the issue; they went above and beyond by offering a small perk to make sure we felt valued and encouraged to return. That kind of hospitality is rare and genuinely appreciated.
By the time the ribs came back, they were exactly how I wanted them, and the whole meal was fantastic from start to finish. I honestly couldn’t complain — great food, great service, great atmosphere.
Chop Steakhouse & Bar earns a solid 5 stars from me. I’ll definitely be coming back! Thank you for the complimentary delicious chocolate cake!
Steak was a bit tough around the edges. Extremely chewy. It was medium in the middle but well done on the edges. The Cambrian chili butter is beyond delicious. Baked potato was huge and it’s been a long time since I’ve been somewhere that had all the fixings. Wine was a great choice.
However, I ordered a dessert to take back to my hotel room for later – no cutlery in the bag. That’s weird for a restaurant inside of a hotel.
Kinda ruined my experience. Am I Eating ice cream and cake with coffee stir sticks? Ice bucket tongs? What’s the plan? Still TBD
The food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. Everything was cooked perfectly, and you can tell a lot of care went into the overall dining experience.
The service was great without being overbearing, which made the night even more enjoyable. This is definitely a spot we will be returning to for special occasions and future date nights. Highly recommend!
The wine was absolutely amazing, and I was offered sampled before choosing my 9oz glass which was wonderful.
The chimichuri sauce was delicious, not too spicy, and the sauces served with the steak bites were to die For. The horseradish sauce was nicely balanced.
Highly recommend the Chop steakhouse for any celebratory event.
I thought before you used to have mini sampler of desserts but the mini brule was a nice size.
Side note: be careful as there is a ramp on the sidewalk by the door that has a ramp but no lines painted for the incline edges.
The food? Straight-up obsessed.
Those mussels came out steaming in a garlic-white-wine situation so good I almost cried. Bread on the side? Grilled, buttery, gone in 60 seconds. Then the New York strip (medium-rare, because we’re not monsters) showed up: seared crust, pink center, seasoned like it had a PhD in flavor. Truffle fries and creamed spinach rounded it out—honestly, I’d frame the plate if I could.
Service was the one plot twist. Our server was an absolute gem—warm, funny, knew the menu like the back of her hand. But then… radio silence. Water glasses hitting E, 15-minute check chase, had to do the awkward “raise one eyebrow at the host” move. Not tragic, just off-beat.
Verdict: The food is worth the Uber surcharge alone. I’m already plotting my return (and maybe wearing a louder shirt so they spot me faster). Tighten up the service rhythm, Chop, and you’ll have me in here like it’s my second job.
TL;DR – 10/10 would steak again. ✨
Loved our cocktails and steaks were very well seasoned. I’d say this place is one of our go-to’s for any celebration. The dessert was on the house — and it’s just heartwarming to feel like the place is celebrating with you too.
