We we there at noon on a Friday. There was a brief, less than 10 minutes wait to be seated. The atmosphere is very welcoming, rustic barn themed decor. I had a pork tenderlon sandwich which huge. It was thick and very flavorfull. The sandwich was served on a substantial brioche bun also with good flavor. My side was sweet potato tots. I took half my meal home to enjoy later as I saved room for fresh warm cherry pie with ice cream. Delicious! My friend ordered the daily special wich was pot roast. It was served with mashed potatoes and rich dark brown gravy. She confirmed it was very, very good. Our server was patient, friendly and kept our coffee and soda topped off. Looking forward to eating here again.

We had the greatest experience from day 1. We used The Barn’s North Forty room for our wedding reception and it was effortless from the first moment reaching out to book the room. The room coordinator was so friendly and quick to respond, the restaurant was incredibly accommodating, the food was delicious, and the price… amazing! We fed 20 people a full dinner plus 3 appetizers and had the room to celebrate all for around $471. Our entire experience was wonderful all around.

After hearing so much about this restaurant, we finally made the drive. Although I had repeatedly heard about their chicken fried steak, I opted for the 2 pork chop dinner. They were very nice looking slices of boneless pork chops, about an inch thick. Unfortunately, I found them dry and lacking flavor. I chose fries and a salad for my two sides, both were good, as was the roll that came with the order. After only eating 1 pork chop, I decided to try a pie of their homemade cherry pie, a la mode of course, it fell short of my high expectations.
The service was great, the atmosphere was great, definitely worth a try, there are plenty of options on the menu. I have to give them another try, probably order the chicken fried steak next time. Prices are reasonable, portions are generous.

Didn’t plan on eating out tonight, but didn’t feel like cooking. I’m sitting at The Barn and the music, the staff, and the atmosphere in general is exactly what I needed today! I’ve enjoyed an appetizer and I’ll order dinner soon. This is a gem.

First I want to apologize for the picture of a partially eaten meal but I just could not wait to take a bite of this chicken fried steak I had heard so much about. It did not disappoint! The flavor was excellent and tasted like chicken fries used to before all of this preformed, processed crap came along like you get from many restaurants these days. You would be hard pressed to find a better chicken fry in the Wichita area. My business partner had the chicken fried chicken and it was also very good. In fact her portion may have been a little bigger than mine. We were both impressed.

I was a little disappointed in the rolls we received. They were a little hard and dried out. I suspect they were a day or two old. Still they were very good. I also would have preferred for my sides to be a little larger. This is a big steak and I ran out of sides very quickly. The flavors were excellent but I am a big eater so there you have it.

The inside of the place is decorated in a rustic style with a bunch of wood. It is supposed to mimic a barn after all. It is a very cool atmosphere. The place is very clean and the staff is very friendly and attentive. We really enjoyed our meal and the time we spent there. The prices are in line with other comparable restaurants.

I would definitely recommend the short drive out to Burrton and give The Barn a try. It is only about 30 minutes from the west side of Wichita. I will definitely be returning soon!

If you’re looking for a delightful dining experience in Burrton, Kansas, look no further than this charming Barn restaurant! Known for its delicious pies and friendly staff, this place truly embodies the essence of small-town dining. The menu is refreshingly simple, featuring a variety of options from burgers to salads, but the star of the show is undoubtedly the chicken fried steak.

I had the pleasure of trying the chicken fried steak dinner, and it did not disappoint. The steak was perfectly cooked, boasting a golden brown, crunchy, flaky crust that was seasoned just right. Each bite was tender and moist, generously smothered in rich country gravy. It’s a rare treat to find a restaurant that can master such a classic dish.

The ambiance was equally enjoyable, with a spacious dining room adorned in charming country farm decor. Our lovely waitress added to the overall experience with her warm hospitality. I can’t wait to return and indulge in more of their wonderful offerings, especially those famous pies! This barn restaurant is a hidden gem that deserves a visit.

First time trying out The Barn and I’m so glad we finally did! We drove in from Wichita on a Saturday night without a reservation. Our wait for two was 30-40 minutes and honestly, we didn’t feel like it was that long. We waited at the bar. Bartenders were friendly! Finally got sat. We started out with chips, salsa and queso. The salsa was SO fresh and the queso was so delicious. We then ordered the chicken fried steak and the sirloin for entrees. My steak was a little overcooked, as I did request medium rare but it was still pretty good for being well. Chicken fried steak was so yummy! We were full but just had to top off the evening with a slice of the chocolate peanut butter cake and boy, am I glad we did! Soooo delicious! Our server was fantastic and so sweet! We will definitely add The Barn on our rotating list of restaurants to dine at. Highly recommend.

Place was dead on a Friday morning so I popped in for a quick breakfast. I ordered an omelette with mushrooms and green peppers. The mushrooms were super undercooked and rubbery. The salsa was mid. I did appreciate the size of the omelette though, and the cheese on it was good. Hashbrowns were good. Coffee was decent. Service was friendly but not outstanding. Prices are reasonable.

They also play nothing but Christian music in here. And not even good Christian music, but the really cringe kind. I have absolutely no problem with it personally, it’s not about my own beliefs, but when you’re a business open to the public, it’s just completely unwelcoming and unkind to anybody who walks in that door with a different faith. So, downgrade on my rating because of that too. Be kinder, do better.

We ate there first time the other day. We are new to area. $50 for lunch. If you want hime made, forget it. We ordered mushrooms, straight out of a bag for over $9 tiny button mushrooms. I had brisket salad. Nothing special and if I had to guess. They did not cook the brisket. Husband had chopped steak and I know it was a pre-made frozen patty. Don’t bother unless you enjoy that kind of food

Hands down an amazing hidden gem!! The salsa is homemade and tastes just like salsa from a garden. Fried green beans were 10/10. Plus the BEST fish and chips.
Must try is the wings. 1000%%
