Talavera in Scottsdale delivers a dining experience that feels both elevated and effortless, striking the balance that so many upscale restaurants aspire to but rarely achieve. From the moment you step inside, the atmosphere is exactly what you hope for in a fine dining evening: warm lighting, thoughtful design, and a calm but vibrant energy that sets the stage without overwhelming the senses.

The food is the true standout. Each dish is crafted with precision and intention, showcasing ingredients that are fresh, seasonal, and treated with real respect. Portions are generous in a way that feels welcoming rather than indulgent, allowing diners to fully enjoy the complexity and richness of each plate. The flavours are layered yet accessible, and every course delivers on both presentation and depth.

The wine program is another clear strength. Talavera’s selection is curated with care, offering a range that truly enhances the dining experience. Whether you are looking for something bold and memorable or light and elegant, the staff can guide you with confidence and insight. Their pairings elevate the food without overshadowing it, which speaks to the quality and thought behind the list.

Service is polished, attentive, and sincere. The staff demonstrates a clear understanding of pacing, hospitality, and detail, contributing to a meal that feels seamless from start to finish.

Overall, Talavera offers an exceptional culinary experience where quality, generosity, and atmosphere all converge. It is a restaurant that invites you to savour, relax, and return again.

This was our third and final time to Talavera. It’s a steakhouse with a Spanish theme, hence, their very good paella.

However, what you won’t find here: Shrimp cocktail, lump crab cocktail, oysters, ahi tuna, chicken, fries, baked or twice baked potatoes.

Bread service is $15 for four small parkerhouse rolls. We had one cocktail and one glass of wine and still spent $450 for three as they charge for everything. And speaking of everything, I ordered an Old-Fashioned and it was $24. I had the same cocktail at their casual restaurant, Proof, three days earlier for $17. Sorry, I don’t mind spending $$$$$, but don’t rip me off.

Service was mediocre at best with long wait for the entree and dessert.

It was nice to see a manager stop by but our experience was marred by the lack of steakhouse items on the menu and surcharges.

Gorgeous setting with warm service. If you’re looking for a special place to enjoy a dinner with your family or loved ones, look no further. Talavera offers a breaktaking sunset view, delicious bites, crafty cocktails and an unbelievable experience. I hope to visit again soon!

We’ve dined here several times- to our delight. This last time was a solid “meh”. They changed the paella to either a meat or seafood vs. the combo they used to have. The menu seemed reduced. Even the Pan con Tomate – which we get every time -seemed different and less flavorful. Things seemed so different I asked if they had a new chef. The meal was ok but for the price, I want great.

Absolutely phenomenal meal & service here.

Matthew was an incredibly attentive server. He anticipated that I would be done with the misters by the time the sun set and asked me in advance if that was the case. It was. This is the best service you can ask for, someone seeing around corners for you.

The manager confirmed everything was to my liking. I always appreciate a manager who is ensuring things are at or above the bar. I then asked her if the Nighthawks were paid actors. It turns out sunset is absolutely the time to be there. It’s a beautiful vista and it seems like the birds were performing!

The food was outstanding but the service was even better. Not to be missed!

I have always been a strong supporter of the Four Seasons brand. The consistency of service and quality is something I genuinely value, and I visit frequently. In just the past six months, I’ve stayed at Four Seasons Toronto, Florence, Milan, San Francisco, and Las Vegas — each delivering the elevated experience I’ve come to expect.

Unfortunately, our recent dinner at Talavera at Four Seasons Arizona was a significant disappointment.

The evening began beautifully — the ambiance, décor, and cocktails were exceptional and set the tone for what we anticipated would be a memorable meal. However, the experience quickly deteriorated once the food arrived. I ordered the tenderloin steak for my main course, and it was unfortunately inedible. It was extremely difficult to cut, even with a steak knife. After bringing this to our server’s attention, a second tenderloin was brought out, but it was similarly tough and again impossible to properly enjoy.

While discussing the issue with the manager, Jacob, an additional service misstep occurred when water was accidentally poured into one of our wine glasses. We were enjoying an expensive bottle, so this was particularly disappointing. We then attempted to order another bottle of the same wine, only to be told it was sold out — despite being assured when we sat down that the wine list was fully stocked and nothing was unavailable.

To compound matters, this dinner was in celebration of a friend’s birthday. When making the reservation, we had arranged in advance for a special treat to be presented. We even reconfirmed this arrangement by phone earlier that same day. Unfortunately, this was completely overlooked and never acknowledged before the bill was brought to the table.

I will absolutely continue to visit Four Seasons properties around the world, as my experiences elsewhere have consistently been excellent. However, this particular evening was shockingly below the standard I associate with the brand. The property is beautiful and full of potential, but there is meaningful opportunity for improvement in execution and attention to detail.

We had a great experience at Talavera. The service was friendly, the atmosphere was beautiful, and the sunset view made the evening even better. We tried the Wagyu, the banzino, the garlic bread, and the fried potatoes and everything was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. Overall, an excellent dinner and definitely a place we’d come back to.

Talavera is a nice restaurant. My wife and I have eaten there before and enjoyed it. But today was a bit disappointing. When I made the reservation I was asked if it was a special occasion, which I replied, “Yes, it’s our 45th wedding anniversary”. So, obviously, since asked that I naturally thought at least a special acknowledgement would be waiting on our arrival. Sadly, only a Happy Anniversary was stated by the server and that was it for the evening. Quite disappointing. Also, we arrived at 5pm, placed our order at 5:10 and then sat for 40 minutes waiting for word on our order. The waitress did finally come by to tell us it would be another 4 to 5 minutes. 10 minutes later we asked the waitress to check again. A few minutes later our food finally came. I will say the food was excellent, but other than that, the experience was lacking for an anniversary. We probably will not be coming back.
After posting this on their website I was contacted by their GM. She apologized and offered to handle a future visit personally. As nice as this might sound, it actually didn’t address our disappointment with this special anniversary dinner. There’s no real incentive given for a return visit except that the GM offered to handle our reservation personally. I don’t see any advantage to that or incentive. I guess I was expecting something offered that would make up for our disappointment. Not financially, but a promise of a night to remember for going beyond expectations. I guess our 45th wedding anniversary dinner will always remain a bitter remembrance.

Well, the restaurant got in touch and wanted us to give them another try. So glad we did. From the time my wife and I entered the restaurant, we were treated to exceptional service and an amazing dinner. It was way more than we hoped for and certainly something we will always remember. Thanks to the Talavera staff for a night to remember. Ratings reflected above show how much we appreciate your efforts.

We had OK experience, food was not bad (except asparagus was saggy), but the food for this type of restaurant should be levelled up! Everything was OK, and wont be back for OK food. And I visited many high end restaurants and you know the difference, when you know what to expect from a place like Four Seasons!

Service was great though and nice atmosphere.
This place has a beautiful view, beautiful sunset.

Won’t be back to try other dishes, too many great places in Scottsdale to try and explore.
