We came from the KC Metro area to check this place out. It seems to be a family owned establishment that the locals love. Had a great vibe to it. I had a combo plate that came with two pancakes two eggs bacon and hash browns. Everything was delicious. My wife had an omelet with hash browns and toast. She really enjoyed everything. Reminded us of the Diner in Booneville Mo. One of our favorite breakfast places. The sevice was excellent. These young girls were working very hard making sure everyone was taken care of. They must of refilled my coffee 5 times. Definitely will be returning and its was a good 35 minute drive.

Was a little busy for a Sunday morning, but as to be expected. We didn’t wait too long & got a table right near the kitchen window! Very friendly and local feel when you walk in the door, the service was excellent & the food was absolutely delicious! Will definitely recommend to others & come again.

I ordered a Breakfast Bowl! 10/10

This little cafe was amazing. The staff was very kind, and the food was amazing we ordered the breakfast bowl and the harvesters plate. My favorite part of this was the biscuits and gravy. The only bad thing I have to say is that it was a little bit hard to find out where to pay but other than that I will most definitely be coming back and recommending this cafe to friends!

Honestly I am shocked I went to upload photos of my stay but when I hit select photos my computer randomly picked google photos I didnt even know existed so rather than upload the real pictures I picked the most random ones I had. I am sure these minecraft pictures were taken for a reason.

My husband and I both had the country breakfast platter(he had the CFS and I had sausage). He said the CFS was well seasoned and delicious. The hasbrowns were crisp and sausage was good as well. The biscuits and gravy were light and airy, could tell they were homemade. Definitely will be back.

Well today I went here with my daughter for breakfast on our way home for the weekend from her dorms in KC.

As much as I have driven between Meriden and KC; not once in my 43 years had I been in downtown Tonganoxie.

Glad that Google maps lead me there for chicken fried steak and eggs!

The coffee was smooth and “nutty” like good Ole Grandma made.

We both ordered the 2 egg, hash browns, chicken fried steak, and toast. I was not disappointed by the large thin and tender steak. Plenty of gravy without being smothered and a waitress that was full of energy and smiles as she did regular rounds to keep coffee cups full.

The decor was consummate Small Town Pride. The wall were covered in pictures of local residents as well as a deep and long Kansas sport history.

I’ll be back soon to check out their dinner fare.

BTW they had a “basco” sauce that I hadn’t tried before and I really liked the salty milder taste.

Great small breakfast stop. Came for breakfast two days in a row. Loved the hashbrowns, nice and crispy. And the bacon and sausage were some good size pieces with great flavor.

I can’t believe such an amazing and fascinating restaurant has been so close to home all these years!!
It was quaint and fun to see every collectible. They even deck it out for Christmas to the point you are in Christmas town.
The food was DELICIOUSLY hot and fresh and service was great.
A favorite for sure!!
